Amazon has had this on 25% off near continuously for the past 3 to 4 weeks. I picked one up myself at this price, though I expect the discounts on this set will eventually be even greater.

I bought it strictly for parts myself. dark red is yummy....

Good price, and what it probably should have cost from the start, given that the set is mostly 1x2 plates...

That being said, the box is very heavy, so it is indeed packed with lots of Lego goodness...

My wife hasn't built this one yet, but it is coming soon, she just finished Falling Water (darn it, 5 missing parts!!!), so this one might be next...

i bought 2 set and haven't touch them yet

in a way i figured if i get lego special sets at a discount it is almost like getting cash at a discount

FYI, I picked this set up from amazon at $135 an have seen it get there a few different times.

Wait for a Barnes&Noble 30% off coupon (plus 10% member discount) and it's down to $126 + tax, if my math is correct. I'm hoping for an even better BN coupon before I get it.

^ These also could be had last Black Friday for $100, when they allowed any Lego for 50% off, but I doubt they'll repeat that mistake (they fixed it at some point last year, forget when).

@Legofantexas - yup, that's when I got mine. :D And some stores did tell me that the Architecture line didn't count (not classified as a toy) but other stores just rang them up with the 50% discount + 10% B&N discount.

They did this for both Black Friday and a pre-Christmas sale.

B&N is great when they do that, but of course I'm sure they are losing money at those prices...

I suppose that is what happens when a product is not your core product (toys rather than books), and you have sales and specials and you have $8/hr people at the register.

thank you guys for the tip on buying from B&N
its been ages since i have spend money at B&N, last time I ordered something from them (around christmas for some discounted DSLR, they canceled my order because of a price mistake), since then i haven't bought anything from them since.

I was at B&N on Saturday and the Toys & Games associate told me that I should come on Black Friday for their deal. She basically confirmed that the deal would be (again) buy one get one 50%. She said there was a 1 item limit, but she told people to leave the store and come back in to get by that.

^ It wasn't Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off this last BF. It was just Buy 1 50% off (repeat, repeat, repeat...).
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
^ & ^^ Was/Will the 50% off just for the Robie House set only, or for all Lego? I've been eyeing the King Carriage Ambush set there for a while :).
  • littletokilittletoki Member Posts: 519
@Poochy ~ actually it was for all other Lego - the promo was 50% off one educational toy. The Architecture line was supposed to be exempt but depending on where you went, sometimes they rang it up with the other toys.

If you're going to do a lot of B&N purchases on Black Friday, I highly recommend getting their membership. It saves you an extra 10% - even on sale items.

@littletoki Thanks for the info. I'm actually more interested in the King Carriage Ambush than the Robie House at this point, but would not pass up the latter for $100 (for parts). Will look into the membership aspect.

^ I find it unlikely Kings Carriage Ambush will be there come BF...

It is gone and sold out, what they have left, is all that is left, sooner or later they are just going to be gone.

^ I think it's possible. I've seen a lot of product on the shelves at B&Ns. I found a couple of 8037 Y-Wing sets this past BF.

What surprises me is that we haven't had a 40% off coupon at B&N yet this year (maybe there was one in early January, I don't recall). I swear these were popping out every other month last year.
