4435 car and caravan set

Just built this set with my daughter today. I believe I have an illegal caravan.

The number plate on the car is PN4435 front and rear, the number plate on the caravan is JM4435.

I suspect the intials are of the designer, hence why they are different if one designed the car and the other designed the caravan.

The instructions clearly show the different plates, so believe this was design intent, or was it an oopps!, by LEGO.

Just interested to hear if my assumptions are correct, and are there any other sets out there like this?

    In the UK the plate on the trailer or caravan has to match the vehicle towing it.

    Thanks guys, I think that explains it.

    In Denmark - where LEGO is located - the trailer always has a different license plate and registration.

    And yes, your assumption is correct, the letters are the initials of the designer.

    @peterlinddk

    Thanks for the confirmation. So the caravan was designed by one designer and the car by another.

    Just looked at set 4643 Powerboat transporter that I have built.

    The registration plate on the truck and the trailer match and are JL4643. From comments recieved then the trailer in real life should have a seperate plate.
