Barnes and noble has Helms Deep, Weathertop, and Moria for $116.95, 44.95, and 71.95 respectively.
Use code T4T8J4A for an added %15 off. Makes it come in at -28% off for Helms Deep and Moria while weathertop is -33%.

My math was off a bit, Helms Deep and Moria are 22.5% off and Weathertop is 36% off if one applies the added 15% off code mentioned above.

    Thx @andystar

There are a couple of 20% off codes available as well. Got my Helms Deep for $99 after all discounts! Also got attack on weatherop for $38. Both totals include tax.
  • hoyatableshoyatables Member Posts: 873
Thanks, this was a good deal. I couldn't find a 20% off code but 15% stacked on the 10% was just fine. Note that the code above is only valid on one item.

I also just noticed that Amazon is matching the BN 10% discount sale.
  • teal93mr2teal93mr2 Member Posts: 1,009
If anyone wants the two 20% codes just let me know. Each one can only be used one order at a time and used only once. Not a bad deal though!
  • mrfootballmrfootball Member Posts: 84
Thanks for the heads up, just picked up Helm's Deep.
  • CoolsplashCoolsplash Member Posts: 935
Can you PM me the 20% off code @teal93mr2 ???
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
@teal93mr2 Please DM the code as well if you are willing to share it. Thanks!
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Correct me if I'm wrong, but @teal93mr2 $38 for weather top means you only got 15% off the sale price of 45? Does that mean the BN membership discount of 10% doesn't stack? I've never bought LEGO off BN.com so I'm not sure how the coupons and membership discounts stack...

Sorry to double post, but after looking into it a little more I think the BN membership 10% off discount is an in-store only discount.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
If you are a B&N member, you can get 20% off with these codes:
    V9N8W8R
    H4V4K8D

That brings Weathertop down to $35.96 before tax.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
^ which is an insane 40% off on a brand new set. it helps that they apparently mis-listed the regular price as 49.99 instead of 59.99
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,634
I had been wanting a Weathertop but not for $60. thanks for posting!
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ Hopefully these prices, and inventory, stick. I'm guessing there will be at least a 25% off associated with Father's Day next week.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
Helm's Deep for $99 shipped. I wish I could pull the trigger. Already picked up Weathertop for $47 from Amazon Warehouse a week back... thought I was getting a good deal.

Thanks for the tip @andystar! I picked up a Weathertop for ~$36 shipped before tax, that was nice. Did anyone also get a message saying to call 1-888-226-4579 for a $10 rebate on the order?
  • jadeirenejadeirene Member Posts: 474
The Batwing is also on sale for $26.95 (before coupon).

Mill Village Raid and Hoth Wampa set are also available at full price, but with the coupon are great buys (if you're looking for either one) considering they're sold out basically everywhere.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
@BrickDancer I got that too and clicked on it but it looked fishy, so I clicked back and checked the rebate message and right above it, it says "Advertisement" in small text. So it was just a cleverly disguised ad. Just like how on some torrent sites you'll see a big DOWNLOAD button but its really just an ad.

THANKS SO MUCH!!! I was able to use the "10% sale" + the 15% off code + B&N undervaluation to get Attack on Weathertop for a super deal.
  • teal93mr2teal93mr2 Member Posts: 1,009
@yys4u: No, I got the 20% off AFTER the 10% member discount. The $38 total includes 6.075% NC sales tax.
  • ChoochChooch Member Posts: 148
Pulled the trigger on the Weathertop set - $38.12 out the door with tax included. Not bad - should be here before the end of the week....
Thank to the OP for the heads up and the other poster for the BN discount codes.
  • MCNwakeboardMCNwakeboard Member Posts: 320
I also ordered the weathertop also but find It interesting that they cancelled my pre order less than a week ago. No complaint as it ends up being cheaper with the coupon
  • turtle1173turtle1173 Member Posts: 230
I had just ordered weathertop from Amazon for $44.95. After seeing the BN deal, I cancelled my order with Amazon and got it for $39.81 total. My son is buying it, so he was excited for the $5 savings, lol.

My wife gave me the green light on Helm's Deep as a Father's Day gift. At $93+ tax I think it's a pretty good deal though I wouldn't be surprised this Christmas if Amazon goes lower.

Having just built Weathertop, I agree that these sets are overpriced even for themed. However, at a 20-40% discount they are quite nice. There are some QC issues though. I noticed some color variation between dark tan bricks and the Nazgul's hood pops off very easily which is annoying. Anyone else find this?
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
I think the hoods just don't work with the half-wrap cloaks. You either have to smash the cloaks or settle for the fact that they're going to pop the hoods off at the slightest touch. Hopefully, future iterations will just use the more traditional capes. Didn't notice any color variation on like-color bricks, though.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
Really it's only one brick. One of the dark tan 2x2's has a reddish tint. Nothing major but I may contact Lego to see if they will send me a replacement. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a problem with the hoods. Pretty annoying when I'm trying to have a sword fight and every time I twist the cloak the hood pops off.

What a great deal for B&N members. I just picked up one of each: Helm's Deep, Weathertop and Mines of Moria (separate orders). At those prices I think they are definitely worth it.
  • andystarandystar Member Posts: 275
For those with Discover Card, if you have cash back rewards available you can get B&N eGiftcards in $50 increments for only $45, a 10% discount. I used this along with the above codes and ebates to get Helms Deep for the following:

    $116.95 (B&N 10% discounted price)
    -17.55 (using 15% off code)
    - 9.94 (10% off by using Discover cashback gift cards mentioned above)
    - 1.99 (2% ebates cashback on total - applied after first 15% discount, if it works)
    -----------
$87.47 final price for Helms Deep, or 33% off before tax, not shabby for a new release.

I did the same for Weathertop, it came in at $33.62 before tax, or 44% off.

I'm going to have to sign up for a B&N membership for the 20% codes if their discounts remain valid on newly released LEGO sets, these deals are too good to pass up.

Thanks @andystar I got a Weathertop set. Great deal.

I could not get the coupon to work with MVR :(.

^@Poochy: Discounts only works on the newer sets, starting around the time B&N got the City Forest Police Station. After sorting the list by release date, start there and go towards the newer releases. The older sets have a disclaimer "Not valid for discount unless specifically stated". So no QAR, MVR, or MF (7965).
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
I too bought the Weathertop set with the 20% off coupon, thanks to @sidersdd for providing that! I was going to use the other code and get Helms deep too but I had to cancel my first order for Weather top and reorder because I used the wrong shipping address, and so I think that voided the code on the first order so I had to use the second code for the 2nd order :(
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
@BrickDancer: Thanks. I was just hoping that jadeirene somehow managed to get past that restriction.
  • teal93mr2teal93mr2 Member Posts: 1,009
Just in case anyone needs more codes:

    •15% off Non-Member Codes: T4T8J4A, X4P8A3B, T4T8J4A, D7L8F8R (VISA)
    •20% off Member Codes L4L8R9C, B7D9E9W, V9N8W8R, H4V4K8D
  • Penkid11Penkid11 Member Posts: 788
I actually saved more than that at Fred Meyers for Attack on Weathertop this past weekend.
    I used:
20% off $20 worth of toys coupon
15% employee card discount (thanks grandpa)
    10% all home goods

So in total I got it for about $33. It is a decent sized set, but the license raised the price too far. Glad I got it when I did.
  • CoolsplashCoolsplash Member Posts: 935
I ordered Helms Deep for a total of $106 of so with shipping to me. Quite a good deal in my eyes but just got an email from B&N that it got cancelled. I wonder why. I have emailed B&N for this so lets see. I was going to order Weathertop and Mines of Moria today but now not sure what to do.
  • gdelahoussegdelahousse Member Posts: 153
I got mine cancelled too ... coupons not valid on those LEGO sets...
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
Mine has a shipping label but hasn't made it to UPS yet, I wouldn't think it would be canceled at this point.

  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
Are you guys in the US or elsewhere? I have a shipping label for Helm's Deep that I ordered. I will say that B&N is pretty flakey when it comes to their customer service and what coupons are honored. I only buy from them when they offer deals like this.

^^ No, I live in Colorado. How of my past 10 LEGO orders with B&N with coupons, only 2 went through, all others were cancelled

I've had no problems with dozens of BN coupon orders and I only order Lego from them when there's a coupon available. I wonder if there's something else up with your account?
  • RennyRenny Member Posts: 1,145
I placed 3 separate orders (1 of each lotr set) using 3 individual 20% off coupons and just received notification that all 3 were shipped. I am in Illinois. Placed the orders yesterday around noon.
  • gdelahoussegdelahousse Member Posts: 153
I called them (again) and they confirmed that those coupons can't be used on LEGO... It down to how awake is the CS processing the order...
  • gdelahoussegdelahousse Member Posts: 153
Just placed 1h ago, just got cancelled now... the BN CS asked me for an Order ID with LEGO and coupon that went through, I won't ask any to not red flag an account ;-)
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,789
Im in IL and got the 2 shipping notices for the sets I ordered
I may go for a Weathertop and Moria but not sure...
  • meyerc13meyerc13 Member Posts: 227
I suspect your account has a red flag, as you state. I used a 20% coupon that I received via email, it had no specific LEGO restriction (although I've seen some coupons that do). Also, these LEGO sets don't have the notice that they aren't eligible for coupons, although most LEGO sets do. With no restrictions stated, my order went through on a Weathertop, should be delivered tomorrow.

This is only the second LEGO set I've ordered online from B&N, although I've used many coupons in store (about $400 in LEGO over the past year, all bought with 20%+ off). I'm guessing that those with orders cancelled tried to take advantage of one of those deals that was too good to be true in the past (i.e. using multiple Groupons on the same order). Something like that will get your account flagged, and any future orders will be examined with more scrutiny.
  • gdelahoussegdelahousse Member Posts: 153
I opened my account 5 weeks ago ... only ordered LEGO using BN coupons sent to me ... I am about to cancel my membership, this is getting ridiculous
  • thorniethornie Member Posts: 245
^ I cancelled my membership when I went through similar hassles. It's frustrating because it seems like it works for everyone else, yet every time I try and apply the coupon codes I get hassle. I would use the coupons at the store itself if any B&N near me had a half decent LEGO selection, which they don't. :/

My account was flagged as well after the Groupon fiasco a few years ago...every order I ever placed with B&N since then was cancelled. I just sign in as a guest using a different email address and everything ships. Picked up the Big Ben architecture set and had it shipped back to Australia for a gift.
