Sorry this is prob glaringly obvious, I brought a bag of playmobil and had these two bits in, the starwars guy has what appears black bits in his two legs if that means anything, not sure what they are though.
  • plasmodiumplasmodium Member Posts: 1,956
I think the black bits would be magnets, so that would be Obi Wan from http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=852554-1 or http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=4269242-1, and the shield is from http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8792-1.

Anyone know what this would be as there are no numbers on the bottom. Its quite heavy as if there is a battery inside but cannot see how to open it.image

Based on the dimple on the end, I believe it is a Boat Weight, http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=73090b.

Hello is there a poster of all the lego parts with there names out there
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
If it had *all* the parts on it I'm pretty sure "mural" or "billboard" would describe it better than poster.

Is there a Lego ship that has a dragon's head or Sea Serpents head on the sail?

The 7416 Emperor's Ship from the Orient Expedition theme has a dragon/lizard-like animal on the sail - not just the head though.

Hello, all - I received a big bag of miscellaneous legos from a friend for my 7yo son. We are having trouble identifying which things we have, we are no experts and are feeling a little overwhelmed.
I figured I would start with these windshields - if someone could tell me what sets these might go to, I can download the instructions. Thank you so much!

It wasn't that one, my guess is the ship that was for sale on CL was likely not Lego as advertised as I searched all 'Sails' on bricklink and didn't find the one one the ship they were trying to sell.

I wanted to see if anyone could help me in placing some of these parts please? (This one is just a test to see if I can upload a photo, I think most of this is Hogwarts Phoenix Harry Potter) image
  • Son1shineSon1shine Member Posts: 29
Is there a way to deleter previous posts? I was just doing a test above to see if I could upload a picture, and that one was from my phone and the color came out all funky!

Ok, any ideas what sets these belong to?

Here are a few more questions - do you know if this dark drab grey (with a hint of almost army green) is particular to any themes or sets? In the first picture the dark grey closer to you is the typical dark grey found in a lot of star wars, castle or city sets. It is the further one I am curious about.

OK - minifigures. I don't expect anyone to tell me who all of these guys are, but could you please tell me if there is anyone "special" that I should pull out and sell separately?

    image

Again, anyone special? I know some of them go with Harry Potter stuff, but I can't place the two green guys in the bottom left in particular. And is the little hampster Lego? I am guessing not?

Last one - anybody special here?

    Thank you!!!

For whatever reason those are slope decorated part #3939px1 and #3939px2.

Ah, the old grey versus the new grey. Back in 2004 LEGO decided to change some of the colors, particularly greys and brown. Before the change, there was Grey and Dark Grey, and after there was Medium Stone and Dark Stone. The old greys are now called OldGrey and OldDarkGrey, whereas the newer are sometimes refered to as 'bley' because of their bluish grey tint.

So, no, the old greys (with a hint of brown/green as you note) don't belong to any particular set, they are just from before 2004.

The green guys are both Professor Snape, after Neville has thrown the ridiculus-curse on him, thus clothing him in Neville's grandmothers outfit. He is from set number 4752.
The third green guy, next to the yellow-faced Harry Potter, is a soldier from one of the Indiana Jones Crystal Skull sets.

Last one - anybody special here?
    image
The leftmost is Ron Weasley from an early Harry Potter-set, back when they all were yellow. The security-guard next to him, could be from set 7785, but he also exists in other sets, with different heads. The next guy is a pilot, but I don't know from which set, and the last two are police officers from anywhere between 2004 and 2010.

I use, and recommend, this overview from peeron.com: http://www.peeron.com/inv/catpic/973 to assist me with minifigures. Perhaps it can be of help to you as well.

Thanks so much for the help, Legobrandon! Those sure do look like some of the parts we have! Once we get those assembled, I'll see what other obvious type pieces i can bother you with! :)
Thanks so much, really, really. I could have spent all year trying to find this for my 7yo. :) -Beckett

Need a color ID on the 2x6 to the left of the 2x2 tile. The other colors for reference left to right are dark brown, brown, reddish brown, ?, dark tan, tan. The only color I can tell from what bricklink has listed as available is "sand red" but I've never seen that color in person so not sure if that is what this is.

To me it looks like dark orange, which isn't recognized as a known color but does have an example being sold. That picture the seller supplied looks a lot like yours. It really does not look like sand red, and if you know that the piece wasn't from a set it could be from the factory as an unreleased color or something.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ I've updated the picture to add in red, dark red, orange and dark orange to show the differences. The plastic is in good shape so it isn't a faded/discolored piece.

I figured that might be a problem, it's so hard comparing colors through photos. It still looks too dark or something not quite right to be a sand red, looks almost like a combination of Fabuland brown and sand red to me.

Now I really have no idea. Hope someone else can contribute.

Which markings does it have on the bottom of the brick? They could tell how old the brick is. I have looked up the color of the bricks that were made in a 2 x 6 plate and it doesn't seem to fit any of them. But if you look at the color chart on BL it looks very similar to dark flesh. Which is a current color. You could have a brick that wasn't supposed to be made in that color and/or what was part of a test batch and we all know Lego doesn't throw anything away. By the way, it is not sand red.

Do you have the Mos Eisley Cantina landspeeder to compare the sand red plates in it with your strange piece?
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
It is the only part of this color I have found in my collection so far and I've sorted everything but the 1x1 sized stuff and my technic pieces so I definitely don't have more. The only markings on the bottom are the part number 3795 and "7 - 44"
  • davee123davee123 Member Posts: 854
It's tough to say, but my guess would have to be:
    1) #217 "Brown" (AKA Dark Flesh)
    2) #128 "Dark Nougat"
    3) Something new, or erroneous!

Here's a comparison shot of various colors I took a while ago after verifying them with LEGO (back in 2004):
    http://www.suave.net/~dave/images/colors/browns.jpg

But I guess I don't have an example of #128 listed. I don't think either really looks like the color you posted, though.

I don't have my collection in front of me, but I *think* the location of the injection point would indicate that it's a more recent part (2000+), and not an older part. Hence, I would be inclined to think that it's probably not Fabuland Brown.

"7 - 44" is also pretty odd, I believe. Typically, there's a mold number and cavity number-- which would mean it's either the 44th cavity (that sounds crazy), or the 44th mold for a 2x6 plate, which also sounds ... wrong to me. Do you have an image of the underside to help determine the other nuances in the mold of the element?

How did you acquire the piece?

    DaveE
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I will take a picture of the underside when I get home tonight. I'm not sure exactly where it came from. It had to have been in one of the lots of loose lego that I've purchased since January. Been working on inventorying everything to put in bricklink.

Can someone tell me what this piece is. The only identifying numbers on it are 4491 but when I search for that as a part number this is not what it comes up with on Bricklink. It and a blue one like it came in some bulk Lego we bought. Thank you in advance for your help.

Btw, this one has the clip (probably not the right jargon) for accessories on only one end, but I have some that have the clip on each end, and some that have none.

@LegobrandonCP Thank you so much! I was hoping it would be easy for some of the more experienced AFOL's here.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
Ok so I just got a lot from auction and it had some VERY old normal bricks and some Very old not so normal items :) Any help anyone? Really just curious about the blue item in the middle of picture. I have NO idea what category to even begin to look under for that one.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
Here is a couple of more of the "interesting" items in lot....Not real sure about any of them. Have never seen a 2x2 that comes apart like that or the grey item that reminds me of a snake. The windows I can tell are pretty old, gonna go look for those right now. Just thought some would like to see that there are some interesting finds out there still :)
