Thank you Bobflip! That's the set, and I think most, if not all, of the rest of it is in the same tub I was sorting last night.

Anybody know what these pieces go to?   They are obviously Alpha Team theme, but have no indication of being Lego.  The heads are a bit larger than a standard minifig head.

    thanks

Those look like Lego Pen elements!

Thanks DoctorMcGann, that's definitely it.  Been collecting Lego for awhile and have never seen those.  Learning something new all the time.

Would also agree, definitely from the pens!

I unfortunately don't have a picture, but am hopeful my description is sufficient.

I just found a bag of bricks at a local charity shop that looked like older stuff. My question is specific to the white 2x4's in the bag. The stud's look normal other than a smaller circle just inside the bounds of the actual stud itself. Then LEGO printed inside that circle on all eight studs.

I'll keep looking for a photo as an example.

    EDIT ---

They are similar to this photo I found on BL (except LEGO is all facing the same way on the ones I found)

Just curious of their age, value (if any above a normal modern brick), and collect-ability.

Here's a link to a eurobricks thread about the various logo fonts used over the years, hope it helps:

^Thanks for the link. I'll count it for my Lego history lesson of the day.

Based on the photo I found and the EB article, I'd say they are for sure the "Narrow Open O" studs. I forgot to look for the cross bars underneath, but I'm guessing they don't have them.

Likely safe to say 3001old? At $20 for the bag, I'm not sure they'd be a worthy "investment"
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,818
I have a bunch of 2x2 and 2x4 bricks with similar logos that were made by Samsonite, and the quality is really hit-or-miss among the ones I have. As far as I know there's really no demand for them as investments, and the spotty quality makes using them for building a challenge.

Was sorting tonight and found this piece.

i'd like to think it was a SW set but I may be wrong.

please help me ID this piece. Thank you in advance!

    @77ncaachamps
That piece is 48933pb002 (Bricklink ID) and comes from #7260 Wookiee Catamaran Set. There was a mirrored piece (48933pb003) that came in the set as well.

Hi. This is a bit unusual, but it's a bag I need identifying. From the box I keep all my Christmas sets in:

Maybe I'm not searching properly, but I can't find a set that corresponds to the number 4174388. Any ideas?
  • rdflegordflego Member Posts: 324
@MaffyD is the bag crinkly like the bags used in LEGO sets nowadays or is it a weaker, floppy plastic? If it doesn't hold its shape when you pick it up then I may have an idea of what it contained.

@MaffyD looks like it was #10069 CHRISTMAS TREE Polybag 4174388

EDIT: I need to read more, datsunrobbie beat me by... almost 2 hours LOL

@rdflego - crinkly, like modern bags.
@datsunrobbie - that's it! Thank you! Forgot I had that set. Never thought of checking bricklink.
@GallardoLU - I'm often days behind when replying. Correctness is better than haste, and you were right.
    Thanks everyone!

Any idea where I can get a chrome gold head? (either blank or printed on only one side)

If Bricklink can't help then I'd suggest http://monofigs.bigcartel.com/product/chrome-gold-monofig

There are some on bl, I was wondering if it's not available in some set or gear I'm not aware of. I only need the head for a vidocq moc.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
@vitreolum - the only thing that springs to mind that I've seen them on is a key ring

@vizzitor Thanks, I was searching everywhere and couldn't find it on BL, even using google site: search option. Now it turns up though. Let's hope it also works for the others I have and need to find the set id for.

In a mixed lot which includes parts from all different years and all different themes, there were 4 wagon wheels (BL part number 55817 - http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=55817#T=C) in Speckle Black-Silver.  There are also 3 of the exact same part which aren't in a colour that BrickLink lists.  They appear similar to the Speckle Black-Silver but without the speckle.  My guess would Pearl Dark Gray but there is no record of this part in that colour on BL.  Help?

  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,353
I picked up a small bin of bulk lego this weekend and found these already assembled. I obviously know what the parts are, but can't identify the set their from. Any thoughts? The bin had a Homing Droid and Monster Fight The Werewolf sets mixed in. But there are enough pieces for at least one or two other smallish sets.

  • sdetskysdetsky Member Posts: 35
^ I believe these would be from 8089 - Hoth Wampa Cave.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,353
Can't seem to figure these out either
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 3,940
    @Switchfoot55 it's this part of a motorcycle

    http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=30187b&idColor=1#T=C&C=1

But seems to also appear as part of a Hoth speeder bike which might link to your previous parts.

It probably is just Speckle Black-Silver (Cool Silver, Diffuse) with the speckle coating removed. I've seen people do this with other parts in that color. I don't know what you'd list it as on BrickLink, though.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,353
@andhe, thanks for the quick reply. I assumed it was something along those lines. Based on the rest of the bag's contents, I'll assume it was one of the Hoth sets (most likely #8084 as I recognize a lot of the other pieces as the extras in the bag too along with the figs). Another mystery solved!

I bought this lot from a 20-21 year old who was not a collector.  I highly doubt he removed the speckle coating from 3 parts and I can tell you that there is no evidence of that on the parts.

I'm not a reseller and don't care about listing on Bricklink myself.  I am trying to find what set(s) these came from!

You sure they aren't flat silver?  Flat silver can be pretty dark

We had a week team building event this week which involved one of the managers bringing in a box of 25 year old lego. My ocd  was in overdrive with the toothmarks, scratches, fake lego and general scum included in the box (not to mention the sticker placement which had me crying). At the bottom of the box was this and I couldn't decipher what it was meant to be I found fire engines, some castle, pirates and some paradiso stuff but no space stuff that I could see and I don't know what this piece does.  Any ideas?

I didn't bother enquiring about the box as quite honestly the cleaning of it would have killed me

The Black archway piece is from #7201 Final Duel II (star wars)

that other part I've not seen before, is there any indication it is actually Lego on it?

^^The round black piece is part of a LEGO watch face, I believe.

The ring is Lego, I have a grey one. They remind me of cap gun ammo.

I cannot find it anywhere and I don't have it to hand to look for ID number.

Gave up googling it, all it came up with was everything but.

    EDIT: Bingo.....

    This is it, watch bezel.

No grey so I'm either going mad or I have something special.

The person I bought this last parts lot from must've had a LOT of Final Duel II's. I've got 15 of those black archways.

That set was one of the first to have stormtroopers in them and it was one of the cheapest ways to get a storm trooper.
