[Master thread] Help identifying parts, sets and minifigs

I didn't know what was in the Brickmaster books, so the Hyena Bomber was what first came to mind.

It just looks like packaging for a six-pack of Bohrock. That said, it does say "FAO Schwarz exclusive" at the top left. I've never heard of FAO Schwarz before, but I'd guess they were a supermarket/shop of some sort and in the country of origin, they were the retailers of this 'collection'.

If you're looking for a specific set number for the collection, it may be difficult. Brickset doesn't always keep note of product collections in great detail, and sometimes they don't even have a number anyway.

Are all the Bohrock complete? Is there any indication of there having been a 'freebie' thrown in with the package, cause that would narrow things down.

[Edit]: Just in case, I looked back through the Brickset database for Bionicle sets in 2001-2002, and no collection is mentioned. Though I do remember offers in catalogues back in the day for all 6 of certain Bionicles for the price of 5 (though not specifically the Bohrok), so that'd be my guess as to what it was.

FAO Schwartz is America's oldest toy shop, although it's now owned by Toys'R'Us. It' a bit of 'an institution'.

Thanks. I'm from the UK, which explains why I've never heard of it! I assumed it was German/European because of the name...but then it wouldn't have English writing on the box, would it!

So am I. But Americans have heard of Hamleys...

English printing no longer tells you very much - many European countries now use English on packaging and in advertisements, although that wasn't the case when these were printed.

I'd never heard of Hamleys until a few years ago, to be honest. I think Brickset's the only place I've seen it mentioned. I think F.A.O. Schwartz and Hamley's might be a good comparison in that they're both classy specialty toy stores from major cities.

Movie buffs might know F.A.O. Schwartz from the movie Big starring Tom Hanks. It's the toy store from the giant piano keyboard scene.

FAO Schwartz and Hamleys (no apostrophe) are slightly different from others, being the oldest in America, and the oldest in the world, respectively. They're both tourist attractions.

As others have said, FAO Schwartz is a pretty big, though rare, toy store in the US. The Bohrok are all complete in their canisters, but there isn't any room for a freebie in the box.

Would the FAO Schwartz exclusivity increase the value of the boxed set? Keeping in mind, the box is in rough shape. I've just never seen anything like this sold before on ebay or the like.

I keep getting those little orange/red things in my job lots. Annoying as I have no idea where they are from.
Tried search for flexible tube, but nothing came up for purple.

I doubt it's a lego flex tube, it's too long, also mines have cones at the extremity. I think the red yellow thing is lego and I've seen it on brickset, but I don't remember where. probably a bionicle thing or something.

Yeah, I tried the flexible tube purple search as well, but found nothing! It definitely looks and feels pretty similar to the official ones, but no cones. Probably a Mega Bloks one as there was a bit of that in the lot as well.

For the tires, something for scale (like a standard 2x4 brick or something) would be useful. It's a bit hard to tell how big they are from the picture!

looks like something for wheels. I have black ones with red tubes inside. wheels have a metal rod for inserting them.

When is this set from? It says 050, but does not appear to be the set 50. A friend is selling this and wants to now the value of it. I am thinking around £20.

@Norlego price is hard to say for old set like that, there are none listed in BL just a box. Recently I came upon set #003 also hard to put a price tag, there was only one available on eBay for $100.

The main problem is that the bricks themselves are common. The box was not in good condition so wont have a value for collectors unless they would like a bad box until they stumble over a mint one. I suggested she sell it for £20. She has had it since childhood so need to give it away for nothing, might as well keep it a few years longer.

I thought I was pretty good at looking through Bricklink to locate parts/sets/figs/etc. but this minifigure has me stumped.  If it is knockoff brand, it is an extremely high quality knockoff.

I'd hazard a guess, that due to the rarity and high price of the item, no-one has parted it out as such. Don't know if that effects whether the individual parts are catalogued. I'm guessing parts only get catalogued when a seller submits the info for sale.

Stupid question: is posting parts from LEGO videogame digital models that don't have a physical counterpart yet fair-game? I'm working on recreating the rollcage Jeep in LDD,  and it's giving me fits--the middle of the crossbar and the rear flex-cable sections specifically are giving me fits.

Most video game parts are actually available but possibly not in the color shown in game. I personally don't see anything wrong with asking if a part is available physically, but weather that is the intent of the thread or not isn't my call.
