@ccc I know you are an experienced Lego man yourself, but does it say LEGO on top of the neck? I assume so, but I'm doing my due diligence here.

Judging from the neck printing, it would have to be made by Lego in Europe, not China. The torso does have play wear on it, so it's been around for a while. Hmmm, well you have me stumped. Maybe a misprint, I haven't looked for that clasp on all of the other Lego torsos yet.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,555
It's definitely real, and definitely a European made piece.

It's from a reliable parts source.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,555
PS it's not playwear. It's my dirty thumb print and a very bright desk light that is showing up very slight dings from being in an envelope with a few other parts taken on my crummy phone camera in my hotel room.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,555
I also got a nice new girl's torso. A horse rider wearing a rosette. I'm not sure what set it will be part of.
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,728
Maybe you will get your wish. It definitely looks Star Wars/Hobbit/LOTR.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,555
It's the tan hands that are confusing me. If they were black, I'd think Witch King. I don't think we're due another Palpatine, but if he had a pale / tan face (similar to Grima) this torso might make sense. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

    ^^^ #10674 ?
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,555
That's right, thanks. I hadn't seen that one and I'm not so hot on these sets. My daughter will love it, although I'm replacing hands with fleshies and it'll have a head and hair to match hers.

This is definitely Star Wars/Palpatine related. Compare the clasp: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/exhibit/costumes.html

(google "palpatine clasp" for more images)

Yes it does seem more like a Palpatine one than a LOTR one, so we will probably be getting a new Palpatine at some stage. In that case, it also seems likely that he will come with a tan head, to match the hands.

If true, it's about time. I've never understood why the previous Palpatines were gray. Yeah, his skin is a bit pallid but he's not a zombie.

The timing is interesting, though, since we've just seen all of the late summer sets. Could it be the May 4th promo?

    Nice find! Thanks.

I wonder if they will be lbg hands or tan. This one is definitely tan.

Still looking to identify parts of this fig on left (it's not the Spider-Man torso as originally thought)

    Also head and hair?
  • mressinmressin Member Posts: 843
    ^ It's from the Exo-Force theme.

I have a few things here I would like help with identifying.
Lego Fox, he is larger than normal Minfigs:
    image

Lego Astronaut, I have no idea where his hands went:
    image

    And this Lego set:
    image
These are the Minifigs I think go with it:

    Thanks for looking.
  • scrumperscrumper Member Posts: 317
The fox is from the Fabuland theme.
The astronaut is from the Classic Space theme (Benny from the LEGO Movie) and should have blue hands and airtanks.
  • Bluefairy_56Bluefairy_56 Member Posts: 320
Thanks @scrumper. I definitely remember a Fabuland set, the fox is called Freddy Fox, but none of the sets look familiar.

And no it's not Benny from the Lego Movie. The face is different and the picture on the front of the suit is also different. This astronaut is between 25-30 years old. I tried looking but I can't find it. Unless they revamped him, I don't know.

    But thank you.

Anyone want to guess on the set...I am not sure but it looks to me like it's from a space or robot set, with all the electronic stickers on the plates of heaps of the parts. Plus the astronauts that came with it.
  • Bluefairy_56Bluefairy_56 Member Posts: 320
Just checked eBay, yep he is Benny, but from the 1980's so they did update him.

Ok two down one to go.
  • Bluefairy_56Bluefairy_56 Member Posts: 320
Ok after searching over a 1,000 space, robot, astronaut eBay pictures I found it. It is Recon Robot #6889-1 I have all the wheels too, I just wasn't sure if they went with it or not. There are 135 pieces, so I think I would have roughly 80% of it, as I recognise a lot of the pieces still in the Lego crate of old pieces. So I will have to get a complete list of pieces, Bricksets list isn't complete.

Anyone know where I can look to get one?
  • Big_SalBig_Sal Member Posts: 37
There are definitely some parts from a Spyrius set, most likely #6949 Robo Guardian and also #6835 Saucer Scout. If you switch the heads on the minifigs you'll have the Spyrius robot and some of an Aquasharks minifig.

But there are other parts there that aren't from any of those sets.
  • Bluefairy_56Bluefairy_56 Member Posts: 320
I just looked yep you are right @Big_Sal‌ I have 10 of the wheels for the set #6949 and the other pieces which #6889 doesn't have. Also the clear blue hexagonal top also fits with this other set. I appear to have all these pieces for this set, which is great. I wondered why I had so many of some of the pieces.

Now I just need to download the instruction manuals or try and get them from eBay.

Thank you both for all the help :)

They are mainly mixtures of random parts. Fleshie hands with yellow heads gives a good hint of this.

There is Senator Palpatine on the left, some Star Wars parts, some aquaraiders (the Neptune fork symbol on two different parts shows those parts go together).
  • abeszabesz Member Posts: 2
I appreciate it. I have so many pieces for LEGOs I have no idea what to do with it all.
  • murphquakemurphquake Member Posts: 651
Dark red with blonde hair on left is Chancelor Palpatine http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw243, blue guy on right is a Senate Commando http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw244 Both came in set #8039. The white fig with the orange printing and classic space logo is http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=mm004 from Mars Mission but his helmet is on the minifig next to him with short legs, which is this young Anakin http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw159 but without his head or hair

This is a bit out of the box, but any idea what size tire is being used here?
    Witch's cauldron fire technique

    Leprechaun

    I tried the one I have but it's a lot smaller. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61481

One of these studs is not like the other...

    Have you seen this before?
  • Bluefairy_56Bluefairy_56 Member Posts: 320
@CupIsHalfEmpty‌ I'm not sure what the difference is, other than they are inverted sloping roof bricks. They appear the same to me.
  • plasmodiumplasmodium Member Posts: 1,956
^^I know I have seen some variations on the thickness of the plastic used in the studs on those pieces before. It's usually just due to age.
  • mressinmressin Member Posts: 843
On the rightmost stud, the "Lego" printing seems to be misaligned. No, I've never seen s.th. like that before.
(Also makes me wonder how that can happen. It must be an error in the mold. Wouldn't that be very obvious?)
  • Bluefairy_56Bluefairy_56 Member Posts: 320
I have a few older pieces of Lego, where the word Lego is worn almost off! you can just see the letters. I have some that are different shades of the same colours. I haven't had any that has been varying in thickness...well not yet.

Yes this is what I was trying to show. Sorry the picture showed up clearer on my phone. The rightmost stud has the word "LEGO" rotated about 130 degrees. It's an old dark grey 2x2 inverted that I found in a bulk lot I bought that had a plethora knock off bricks so at first I thought it was fake. But the more I look, it seems identical the my other real Lego bricks. Except for the word being rotated.

^This may be something as simple as the mold cavity insert being assembled wrong after a cleaning or maintenance (i.e. the part with the "LEGO" detail was not put back with the proper alignment). I'm not sure since I don't know the exact mold design, but without more to go on it's a possibility.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
@CupIsHalfEmpty , was filling up an order of reverse slopes, I checked my dark gray piece and look what I found :) It is only 1 out of a dozen, but look like the exact same as yours.

Any background on these yellow and green Legoland Windsor rulers from 2007? Are they still in production and is there such a thing as a Lego ruler collector? Are they more valuable if pictured upside down?
  • plasmodiumplasmodium Member Posts: 1,956
I don't know about the first two questions, but I can tell you they are significantly more valuable upside down.

  • Bluefairy_56Bluefairy_56 Member Posts: 320
I think they were just misprinted, so of course they are worth heaps more :)
