Hey, so it turns out that they accidentally priced the 9474 Battle of Helm's Deep at $79.99 which is supposed to be the 9472 Attack on Weathertop price! Still up on their site as of now! Jump on it if you can!

it's like $53% off the MSRP, and even more off the Toysrus MSRP which is $10 higher!

Go here: http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=12833061

PS, the attack on Weathertop price may be a BIT too high until they fix it... :)

Nice deal. Too bad they won't ship to the US.

Pre order for 29th June. I'm sure they'll have realised their mistake and cancelled everyones order by then. Good luck though!

The preorder price is up to $169.99. Shall we take bets to see what they end up doing? Ship and bill the new price and we have to return or deal with customer service, they cancel, or??

Maybe they just honor the price?

Here's an experiment...buy both (the incorrectly overpriced set and the incorrectly underpriced set) and wait to see which order (if any) is cancelled.

just got an email from them cancelling my order due to a pricing error, they were nice enough to give a coupon code for $45 off the item until sept 1... I wonder if the coupon will stack with a bogo?

Disappointing. Glad they gave you a compensation item.

Yea, I got the same email today... what do you mean stack with a bogo? I assume you just get $45 off that item, no matter what else you buy. Do you mean if you bogo that same item, you might get another $22.50 off the second?

I was thinking more if I would be able to use the code at all with any other offers, i would not expect a $22.50 off another set but if I buy two of them, first full price, second half price plus the $45 discount.
Also wondering what they will say when I order and try to use the discount 5x, as that is how many I had preordered...

^ Your discount probably takes into account that you ordered 5 times (i.e. it was likely $5 off x 5 times = $45)
  • 111ins111ins Member Posts: 265
    $5x 5 = $45?? ... Do you do your own taxes ;p
    sorry, had to ask..
I plan to be asking for a supervisor on the phone if it is just once, as their mistake on just one set is more than the $45 they are offering. Although I guess $45 is better than nothing as we knew they had miss-priced the set i the first place.

^Lol, uh, what was I thinking? Wish I could remove that post, but alas, my brain fart is now immortalized on the Internet. Note to self, be more careful about what you post.

  • Jasper_ParnebrickJasper_Parnebrick Member Posts: 35
Yeah dude, in Canada we pay +25% over USD MSRP even though our dollar is worth more than yours!!! Glad I'm only 1 1/2 hrs from Naigara Falls & Buffalo!

Change your region on Lego.com to Canada and enjoy. From what ive read try Austrailia for a real shocker.

I called TRU today about the $45 off (from the pricing error) they told me I can get off of the set once it is in stock. They said that they could take the order over the phone and I asked if they would apply the discount to more than one set... yes. Then I asked if I could wait to use the discount until the LOTR sets go on sale anyway... YES! So... if you made an order and had it cancelled, you can use your $45 off now (you may want to verify the above on your own by calling) or wait a little while until they have a sale and get an even better price!

Anyone want my unique LOTR 'appeasement' code? Don't know if it will stack doubly with yours, but if you're in Canada and wanna try, PM me. It's good until 9/1/2012.
