    The closest Kmart to me is 30 minutes away. Nothing is showing in stock online, so I figure if I go then the store will already be cleared out of sale items or they'll be sitting on shelves for full price.

    I do envy those of you who got the great discounts.

    Hubby got home and advised me to bite the bullet and buy the extras. So I have some Marinas, Tripods and Motherships available for cost + ship or trade.

    I had 2 Marinas in-store pickup at my local Kmart but the closest one I could find for the Friends set was about 50 miles away. I went in to pick up the Marinas and found 3 Friends Cafe in regular aisle so I grabbed two and asked the manager if I could get those at her store vs. driving 50 miles. She did match it after her & I went online and she saw it said out of stock. And they JUST did inventory last night lol

    The explanation I was given was that they could not sell the last 2 of any item in the store. The theory being that if you order online, someone could also pick one off the shelf and not yet have checked out. That said, a manager today would not sell me everything I had in a cart even thought I was trying to order it on my phone.

    This is actually a bait and switch type tactic that may or may not be legal. I hesitate o complain because kmart's response might be to quit offering the deals.

    I found a lot of POTC marked down without a problem but the 2 Kmarts I went to had the Friends Cafe still at $30. I asked the first store to match the online price and when the mgr saw that his store supposedly had none in stock online he kindly adjusted the price. The 2nd store mgr told me to do a ship to store order because Kmart.com picks up the price difference and his store doesn't lose the money by selling at the clearance price. He said it could take about 20 minutes for the order to go through but I passed after waiting to speak with him for like 20 minutes already.
    My friends @Rick3691 and @jwsmart are happy I found the QAR and other Pirates sets so my travels helped add t my friend's and my LEGO collection. Worth the trip!

    ^ that's a good solution - ship-to-store and then adjust the price. Managers are more likely to go with that if their store isn't impacted (and if it's not much effort for them).

    I got the Captain's Cabin for 4$ but that was all the potc they had.

    One Kmart I went to had just about everything in stock - but nothing in store was marked as clearance; all full price. And I couldn't order anything online there; it all showed as 'out of stock' for this particular store. I tried and tried to explain this to the manager, but she wouldn't give in.
    So I ordered a couple discounted AQ sets online at another store, and then went to pick them up - customer service here was like the polar opposite of my previous experience: I filled up my cart with 15+ LEGO items (all showing full price), went to the service desk to pick up my online order, and explained that everything in my cart was discounted online, but simply didn't show in stock at this store. She took the time to look up each item with me on their website, and rang me up at those discounted prices for everything.
    All told, I paid $206.50 for everything (minus the PoTC stuff I got off their shelf the previous day) - and did some calculating: if I would have paid full price for all of it at the LEGO store normal prices, it would have been $618!!!! So I saved $411.50; and I am extremely happy!!

    That said, I still NEED a PoTC QAR and Black Pearl - but I refuse to pay full price for them - anybody get one discounted and wanna trade???

    I looking for the same two ships as well, QAR and BP. So if anyone else got either on clearance, I would also be looking for a trade/buy AFTER @jlpython gets his ship(s) first :)

    I have been wanting the Marina for some time but wouldn't touch at the RPP. Just way too expensive for the amount of bricks you get. So I did get to grab 2 Marinas on the KMart clearance. Decided to see how they would be connected :) Not too bad!

    Hey @jadedanc - that looks great! I am a CITY collector myself; so almost all of the stuff I picked up on clearance is for my 2 boys and to be used for gifts and trading purposes; this store didn't have any Marinas, but the store that refused to help me DID have them on the shelf; so I was a little disappointed about not getting those. Nice score at $18.50 each - and they look great combined!

    @jadedanc Combining them makes it look like a complete building. So many Lego structures look like half a building (modulars excluded).

    Its a clearance so Id guess so.
    The problem is that I must be in a roughly affluent area because no Walmart or KMart has any LEGO on Clearance....

    Up here in Washington, it's totally different, they are everywhere. They have been on clearance since Thurs or Fri, I think. You had to find them online and have them to be able to pick up at your local store. None are actually marked down in my Kmarts except Duplos.

    Even though I got some stuff at a really good deal this sale annoys me. My closest Kmart where I got the POTC stuff on clearance doesn't even show up on Kmart.com when I try to search for a store so I can't even try to order for pickup. It really is no wonder why they are failing.

    Mine I didn't see any POTC and I have been eyeing both of the boats for a while. I actually have the QAR made for the new Lego store in Lynnwood. Now that I made it, I want one definitely lol

    So @jadedanc I saw your pic of the 2 Marinas together and that did it for me. I placed an online order through another K-mart 30 minutes away, and picked up a couple for myself! I truly believe if you wouldn't have posted that pic I wouldn't have it stuck in my head.
    What's worse (or better, depending on your POV), I stopped by an out-of-the-way Wal-mart I rarely go to in order to get some bread - so I obviously went to the clearance section while there, and saw a lot of LEGO sets with decent markdowns, including the PoTC QAR - for $79. I stared at it for a few minutes, then bit the bullet and pulled the trigger (cliches, anyone?). Unbelievable - I stopped for bread, and came home with a pirate ship. Good thing my wife was asleep when I returned. . .

    Ugh!!!! I want QAR!!!! And your welcome for the Marina idea @jlpython lol. I have been thinking of that idea since I saw it at TRU. But I was NOT gonna pay MSRP for a 200-ish piece set.

    I was on weekend vacation about an hour away and stopped by the local KMart to try and sweet talk my way into getting some online prices matched for the Friends City Cafe, but they said they aren't allowed to do that sort of thing. Disappointing to say the least! This local Kmart had only POTC The Mill ($15) and Captains Cabin (4.50) on clearance. HP and Aliens have been regular price here in Iowa.

    I was also told that the 50% off clearance toys ended the 28th. Anyone else heard this?

    The Kmart in Redwood City Calif. has nothing. Pathetic stock, empty aisles. Being in close proximity to 2 of the Barcode bandits didn't help either. They may have cleared out the pricier inventory with their own custom discounts already.

    I don't know if you're looking for the Pearl, too, but Wal-Mart has the Pearl and Cannibal Escape in a bundle for $99.97... which is an okay deal.

    I would say be thankful you even found stores with stuff on clearance.. I went to the two by me and found nothing cept a Quidditch practice and it was full price;no whiff of a sale either.

    ^ Yeah I'm happy I got some stuff but its not even the clearance part that really bugs me, its the fact that my closest store doesnt even show up sometimes in the search.

    @ graphite I have two KMarts about 5 miles apart and the one that doesn't show up dosn't offer store pickup.

    @yys4u I know the feeling. I did get a little bit lucky getting the Marina and the Friend set, but I also was really wanting the PotC ones lol Oh well.....Maybe we will get lucky next time :)

    I'm not really interested in selling it, but I might be interested in a trade, depending on what you have. I only picked up one on clearance, and now it's off clearance, so I'm not sure I want to get rid of it or not.

    I stopped by my local KMart today and asked the store manager if they'd honor the online discounts since it keeps saying "not available for store pick-up" and they had 4 of the Friends City Cafe in store. She told me "their store" wasn't setup/capable for in-store pick ups. It's not like this is a small store, in a small city. But it makes sense now that I wasn't able to order anything online within 300miles. I'm in Iowa, but I'm less than 100 miles from Des Moines and 200 from Minneapolis. Wonder how many other stores aren't capable for in-store pickup...most? Just plain fishy selling tactics.

    ^ the Cedar Rapids store isn't available for online pickup either, which is the one I was having issues with.

    Keep in mind that this sale is, technically, expired. It was only for the Memorial Day weekend. They still have online clearance, but now it is only about 20% off.

    went to my kmart today....all they had was one badly beaten up QAR for$60. talked to manager and told them i got the same thing for $30 last week and asked if i could get the same deal since the box was so busted, no such luck.

    I live in MN in the TC area and the K-marts around here do in store pick up. When i tried to order it also said not available in the 300 miles but i was able to talk the manager at two stores in to giving me the sets they had for the online price.

    Went into kmart today and saw the 50% off clearance signs. Looked for the Potc sets that have been sitting there for a while only to find them all in another guy's cart :-(
