Kmart has 50% off clearance prices in store. Many deals online as well although you need to do pick up in-store option most likely.

Wow - some massive discounts available, and items are in stock....
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
The website is a little misleading with what is in-stock. Once you try and add to your cart you get a variety of results - nothing, in-store pickup only, an error. The K-Mart web site is atrocious. Their IT staff doesn't exactly have mad skillz. Even worse than the TRU website crew.

Anyway, the deals are excellent (>50% off), and in-store pickup is available for a great number of them.

Just hit up my closest Kmart after seeing this. They didn't have any of the bigger HP stuff and the SW stuff on clearance on the website wasnt on clearance at the store but I did pick up

    3x 4183 "the mill" at $15 each
    4x 4192 "aqua de whatever" $7.50 each
    2x 4191 "captains cabins" $4.50 each

    ANNNNNDDDd....

    2x QAR for $30 each!!!!!
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I guess 4192 is the fountain of youth one. Not sure why the receipt has it in spanish.

    *tackles @graphite* $30 QAR??!???

Some of the items had yellow stickers on them and the QARs had a $60 sticker but rang up at $30. Mill had a $39.99 reg $30 clearance sticker but rang up at $15. The sticker on the fountain ones actually said $7.50 and the cabins had $9. I'm not complaining.. Other than the fact that I bought another QAR at WM for $89 just to make sure I got another one while waiting for it all to go to 50% off.

Hoping that the other Kmart has more than POTC on clearance when I go after work. Will check back over the weekend at this one since they had some bounty hunter ships.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
Also 4182 Cannibal Escape for $11. AC Tripod for $7.50. One store I visited had AC Mothership for $22.50. Another store it was full price. So YMMV. Friends City Park Cafe rang up full price ($30) in store, but I was able to order it for in-store pickup on-line for $11.

The Cabins are clearanced for $9, but it's 50% off the clearance price, thus $4.50. Don't believe the stickers and just scan them first.

Also, for those ordering on-line for in-store pickup, you can use code GIFTSAVINGS for $5 off $45.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
And of course the inventory stated on-line doesn't necessarily reflect what they have in-store unfortunately. I saw items in-store that I couldn't order on-line for in-store pickup. Skull Truck for example. And it rang up full price in-store. I'm hoping they sync up at some point, or that the in-store sales end up matching the prices from on-line.

Add me to the tackle list! I'm headed to my local Kmart here in a few minutes after that post!

I will be hitting up a couple of nearby stores for this, most of them seem to have decent selection but who knows for how long.

My local K-mart didn't have any markdowns so I had to order from my phone to get the website price while in the store. It was frustrating because many items were shown out of stock for store pick-up on the website, even though I was standing in front of them. And adding an extra layer of frustration is that some items that could be added to my cart returned an error at checkout but the mobile site doesn't specify which set so it becomes a guessing game.
  • littletokilittletoki Member Posts: 519
@rocao - did the store honor the online prices or did they basically tell you that you're SOL?
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
SOL... ordering from mygofer is like a tangent universe
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 830
How can you get around this? "Unfortunately, can't find any at stores with 50 miles". I was just at KMart and they had the Friends City Park in store for $29.99, why can't I purchase it for $11 online and pick it up at store?
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
    ^ Because that's the way K-mart rolls.

One thing you might be able to do, which I didn't try, is ask them how their on-line inventory is updated. See if they can get the inventory counts in sync. You may need to speak to a manager, who is probably more familiar with the process.
  • drdavewatforddrdavewatford Administrator Posts: 6,753
    Sounds like chaos.

Good for boxer shorts and that's it I guess....
  • littletokilittletoki Member Posts: 519
This awesome lack of online/instore coordination might give us glimpse as to why they're shutting down a significant number of their stores nationwide.
  • dsdg88dsdg88 Member Posts: 133
The Tualatin K-mart had many of the sets in-store that where listed as out of stock on-line.
The POTC sets were the only ones on sale that I found.
There was one QAR which I grabbed to keep it in the brickset family. I'm open to trade.
    Thanks to sidersdd and graphite.

    grab a 4644 Marina @ 18.50 + tax/ too bad most cars 2 Lego set are gone!
  • kkskks Member Posts: 60
I managed to get two 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunships for $18.50, two 7915 Imperial V Wings for $7.50 and one Marina for $18.50. They were not available for pickup but I talked them into letting me have them at the online price even though they said they usually do not do that. Glad I saw this thread, there were more but I didn't want to clear it out and push my luck on them allowing the price match. No QARs though.
  • littletokilittletoki Member Posts: 519
Well I blew through 2 Kmarts. No QARs but a bunch of stuff at 60% off and no tax!

    My trunk is packed.

^ Not a bad haul. For me, the only item that I'm interested in is the Marina. All the other items are "meh".
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
QAR for $30 is just insane...

No wonder K-Mart is going out of business, that is so needless...

Oh well, no K-Marts anywhere near me I'm afraid, 2.5 hours away, not really worth the trouble, unless I could bring back a truck full. :(
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,333
I just wanted a V-wing for my nephew, but no Kmarts within a 100 mile radius have them. Not worth the shipping.

Lodi, CA - The only item marked as clearance was the PotC Captain's Cabin. Everything else scanned at full price.

A bit frustrating that the items are "pickup only" and the site claims it's out of stock and yet you're holding them in your hand at that location for full price. I managed to get them to override a few to honor the online price. I wouldn't have bothered if it didn't say pickup only. Lodi had a few of the following:
Marina, Captain's Cabin, Geonosian Starfighter, Agent Mater's Escape, & Mater's Spy Zone. Bought a couple, left a few.

I'm jealous of those who have such a huge selection available. I didn't see any HP or AC sets at all (sale or full price).
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
If anyone grabbed a mothership that they plan on opening would you mind letting me know how many bags and loose items are in the box? I got one that was a return at a WM for $15 and opened it at the service counter before buying it. Looked like it was complete with no open bags but would like to confirm.

The Friends City Park Cafe is marked down to $11, MSRP is $29.99 I think
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 830
The only KMart near me (others are 30miles away) had the POTC Captains Cabin x6 for $4.50 but everything else was still full price. HP Knight Bus, City Marina, SW Geonosian Fighter, Aliens and Friends City Park Cafe were scanned and all were full price.
  • byolegobyolego Member Posts: 114
    @graphite

Take a look at this link. It has a photo of the complete content of the box.

Was able to pick up a Marina and City Park Cafe and use store pick up to get the low prices at a local store. Was going to try and pick up more while in the store but the existing inventory scanned as full price. Strange.
  • byolegobyolego Member Posts: 114
PAC is on clearance in store. Only PAC set will scan at clearance price in the brick and mortar store.

Some Friends, AC, SW, Cars, HP, City, etc. is on clearance online only, you have to buy it online but you go to the store to pick up the paid merchandise.

Here's the link to everything that's on clearance on-line.

sorry typos on my previous post. I mean "POTC" (not "PAC")
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
@byolego thanks for that link. Looks like mine is complete. For $15 I think I'll actually build that one. Originally wasn't too crazy about the Alien Conquest stuff but I liked the minifigs.

I tried ordering the City Park Cafe online last night and was told they were out of stock, when I got to the store to pick up some POTC items I found 2 of the Cafes sitting on the shelf. The manager argued it but eventually sold them to me for the online price. I think it helped that it was almost 11 and they were getting ready to close. The only POTC items they had were the Captain's Cabin and the Mill.

How frustrating... "Hey look at these awesome sale prices! None for you!"

Absolutely nothing marked down is available within 300 miles (not that I'd go that far, but just curious). Maybe I'll drive to the one nearby later and see if I can get some price matching.

You can get price matching - depending on how polite but firm you are and how flexible the store manager is. I just brought up a cart full of items that scanned in full price but I knew were on sale online.

The store manager argued "but you should order it online then for in store pickup" and I said "yes, I tried that but it says you're sold out however, we're both looking at them right now". He went online himself and saw that it said "Out of Stock in Store".

That kind of deflated his argument and he gave me the online pricing for everything.

Just try to be patient and polite. They have no control over the crappy online/inventory system Kmart uses.

Finally got to my local Kmart today, and it appears there is another AFOL in my area because the entire LEGO clearance aisle was swept clean. Saw some really great prices, but alas no sets. Everything at mine was marked 50% down, with the most notable being the QAR.
  • pvancil27pvancil27 Member Posts: 588
Only Kmart withing 40 miles of me is in their closing sales, they were out of everything six weeks ago when it was 20% off. Sucks, I'd kill for a Geo fighter at 11 bucks. Ah well.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
I'd really appreciate if anyone finds some, could they cost+ship me a some of these super-cheap sets (50+% off).

Specifically... Harry Potter 4865 and 4867, Alien Conquest 7050 and 7051, Star Wars 7915 and 7930, City 4644
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
I'm beginning to wonder if it is deliberate on kmarts part to not have everything in store available. What if they have a specific number they are willing to sell at those prices and once reached (on a per store basis) they don't allow for pick up. Or the system may just suck. Who knows. Was able to find everything except the potc stuff so it's all good.
  • gofigure19gofigure19 Member Posts: 20
I found 2 Friends Cafe's, SW Geonosian Starfighter and a Marina this morning but the Store Manager would not match the online price even though it shows as out of stock online for this store so I left empty handed.
  • kufkuf Member Posts: 66
I gots the hookup on the Marina, Tripod Invador & Mothership here. At least 4 or 5 each available through gofer.
Zero clearance items were on the shelf though.
Is it worth it with shipping for people? Should I buy to trade or sell at cost here or profit on eBay? Advice? I don't buy sets to resell.

Same here...and my son just got into Harry Potter, so I was stoked at the prospect of snagging a 4867 Hogwarts for $18.50 :-(
