I never seem to have luck at WM - half of mine don't have the price scanners.
My WM was nice enough to put a scanner directly in the LEGO isle. :D

They have nothing on clearance ATM, and aren't carrying either $20 Marvel sets anymore (they had them only during the Avengers' first week in theaters or so). They also replaced a lot of their Ninjago sets with pink brick boxes and duplo brick boxes. :S My WM is weird...

Went to my closest WM to get some ziploc bags for my parts sorting and they had finally marked stuff down. Pretty much every license but SW was marked down at the ~30% rates. I only grabbed the 2 BPs at $69 each since I've grabbed a lot so far and the HP at least will end up at 50% soon enough. They did have one LOTR set out, battle of helms deep, and it was on the top shelf between all the SW stuff which I thought was odd. Funny thing is the huge Space police ship that has been in the Clearance isle for like 2 weeks is still full price. Not sure where it came from since I never saw them on the shelf since I started prowling the WM.

Hit 2 WM in NoVA.....the smaller store off the beaten path uncharacteristically had mostly empty shelves. The Super Walmart was fully stocked but almost nothing was cearanced. The HO and PotC battlepacks were $7 and the Cannibal Escape was $21. No SW on sale and full irice for the London PotC set, etc.

Has anyone asked a Walmart employee (or associate...sorry) how long these prices will last? I'm obviously assuming it's going to last..but will it drop to 50% next week when they need the room to put out some/more LOTR/Monsters/City stuff or will they just clean off the shelves of the 30% off and throw it in the clearance isles?
I know we're talking about Walmart, so there's got to be a 3rd option...something along the lines of moving the discounts to 15-20%off and putting them in clearance.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ knowing WM they'll go back to full price when they get moved to the clearance aisle. lol. Every WM does something different and its always unexplained.

I haven't seen any LEGO clearance in Walmart- Los Angeles county.
If somebody had any luck, please post which WM it is.

My local Walmart in Montana had the Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank on clearance as well as some Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean(not the Black Pearl tho X_X) and Cars sets. None of the stuff I'm really interested in. I was hoping for the Falcon to be discounted in my area. I mostly want classic trilogy Star Wars Legos. Just have to bide my time on X-Wing, Falcon, Tie Fighter, & Y-Wing. If that day ever comes... >_>

Clearance varies wildly by store. One local Walmart tends to drop clearance prices every week or two, but the other will sit on 10% or even 0% clearance (red-tagged overstock) for months.
  • ZonZon Member Posts: 213
Were the Star Wars sets marked with clearance stickers? My WM has POTC and HP marked, but nothing else. Didn't think about scanning stuff without stickers.
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
^ CTT had a red sticker with the $79.00 price as well as the "was $119.97" one underneath. I didn't see any other red stickers SW sets at my Wally.

At my local WM they had Queen Anne's Revenge for $79.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
One WM by me had everything I was looking for but was not on sale, which prob explains why everything I was looking for was still there.. another Walmart in the area had nothing there.
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
Ran across another Wally that has QAR marked at $50 and Whitecap Bay at $30, but both were OOS. Hopefully the other stores with stocks at 30% off will follow suit soon ...

At my local WM they had Queen Anne's Revenge for $79.
I picked one up myself tonight for $79 - this was in Matteson, IL. They also had the Creator Log Cabin for $21, the PoTC Mill, Captain's Cabin, Isla de Muerta, etc, and some Hero Factory stuff all for about 30% off. I passed on everything but the QAR, as I don't have one and couldn't quite bring myself to buy one at full price, as I am mainly a CITY collector. But I have heard you good folks talk about this being a great build with a lot of detail, so I couldn't pass it up. I'd really like the Black Pearl at a discount as well . . .
  • byolegobyolego Member Posts: 114
HP & POTC at 30-35% reduced neatly marked (red tagged) and arranged together in one shelf at one WM. No QAR or Black Pearl. All smaller sets.

Saw Creator Log Cabin at the normal shelf with full-price tag ($29.99) but I did a price check anyway since I read this thread and what do you know it's $21. Wohoo!
    Thanks Guys!

(At another WM everything is full price, go figure.)
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ I'm waiting for 50% on the log cabin since I got one for $15 in Jan. Hard to pay $21 knowing that.
  • byolegobyolego Member Posts: 114
Hmmmm OK, I am keeping the receipt and see what happens ....
  • ghostmindghostmind Member Posts: 14
WM in Canada has the Clone Turbo Tank reduced to $100. That doesn't seem like much, but the set normally retails for $160 up there.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
Hit the Super WM in town and it looks like I missed their big clearance at that one. All HP and POTC are now gone, as are the MFs they had a little over a week ago.

Need to swing back by the closest one to see if anything else got added or if they dropped prices a bit more. I wouldn't mind picking up a 2nd QAR, but only if I can get it for under $80 (was 89 on my last pass).
  • SquareSideSquareSide Member Posts: 170
My local Walmart still has the last CTT at $79. I stared at it for a good 10 minutes debating if i should buy it. lol I have to pass. I want that Falcon & or X-wing anyway. I'm not much of an online seller either but I know I could make some on it. Oh well.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
Prices holding at my store. Picked up 4867 Hogwarts at $35 since there were only two left. Really hoping the larger Hogwarts drops further. All that tan and sand green...

Most clearance was at a rear endcap behind the LEGO section.

I hit up walmart and bought some sets tonight. A few of them rang up cheaper than what the clearance tag said. Hagrids Hut was marked 35.00 but rang up for 30.00:)

I just spent $1300 buying everything a Walmart had for HP and SW Turbo Tanks. Time to start selling,,lol

I found one at the WM By my work. Ran over there on my break.
Found a couple lego millenium falcon 7965 And grabbed one of those instead.
Wish was on clearance though. Took a bite out of my budget for the rest of the month.
  • byolegobyolego Member Posts: 114
I found a Walmart with $79 QAR and $69 BP, do you think they'll go down more as days passed? Should I just keep checking every day?

Another question. Some of you guys bought multiple sets, is that for playing or reselling?
  • byolegobyolego Member Posts: 114
    Does Walmart do price adjustment?

I mean if we buy QAR for $79 this week and it goes down to $50 next week would they refund the difference?
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
^ not on clearance. You may have to return it and repurchase it at the new price, if they let you or buy a new one at $50 and return the more expensive one.
  • wassermjwassermj Member Posts: 16
If anyone is close to Columbia, MD, I checked last night and they had QAR and the large cove set as well as the Cars 2 garage, and a few others.

Squareside...I was staring at one too. Just couldn't pull the trigger though. Not sure whether I should go back and grab it :) I'm so up in the air on that set. Ugh...

Remember to kindly ask the nearest Stocker with those price guns if they can knock the price down a bit more if you pick up extra. It worked for me and a few other members a couple months back. Got 6 Pearls at 50% off along with some Harbors and Marinas for over 50% at that time.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,728
grabbed one of two QARs at $79 to be sure to get one. I will keep checking back and grab the other and the Potter stuff when it drops to 50%
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 851
Wow! Pretty good deal for you! Are those stockers still employed? I've asked at probably 5-6 different Walmarts...yes, politely...and I get the same answer everytime. "This is a corporate/headquarters mark-down and we've got no control of the pricing" or "They'd need a store manager to discount more." I would imagine only select certain Walmarts can discount items more because of their 'monthly mark-down money'. 2 of the Walmarts near me get very little 'mark-down money', because they're considered 'high volume' Walmarts so they have to choose carefully which items they discount. 'High volume' doesn't necessarily apply to LEGOs...these 2 stores have most of their stuff still sitting there at full-price. They just wait until X-mas because they know it'll be mostly gone then and they have the space to do so.
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
I've got two stores within an hour's drive that have not marked down BP (or AC!) but have done QAR. I can only get there so often, so if any of you are near stores that have done the same (it seems pretty common), please post here if you see it marked down. I'm going to one tomorrow but expect to see just the same HP sitting there. The store 5 minutes from me had absolutely nothing from HP, POTC or AC and probably hadn't since Xmas.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,728
The WM I was at had the new product set papers out and they were keeping the Black Pearl and a couple other PotC sets and a couple AC sets as well. So those might go when the summer Star Wars hits or stick around to Christmas in some stores.

Got three set of Super Hero Captain America for $8 each, 2 set of Star Wars the battle of Naboo for 18, and also a beat up box of Dino 5885 for 20 from my local Walmart.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ they had the captain america set marked down?
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
@bsiu922: Do you know if all Dino sets or even just all 5885 sets marked down, or was it only because that one was beaten up?
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
@recao i think that dino set is there because the box are pretty beat up, so it is already 50% off, and $5 additional. that is the only set there.

@graphite. i was surprise too, that label show 12.97 and there is a girl there tagging the box. So, I ask her about the price, 12.97 like the regular price. and she checked and it seems suppose to mark down to $8 around 2 pm today. and she did me a favor to print the label out right away! There was 4 boxes there, and I grab three!

^Those are the nice stockers I was referring to. They have the sticker gun.
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
Also able to get two 7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator for 30 each

find 4527 and 4526 for $5 each, box are pretty beat up
  • lulwutlulwut Member Posts: 417
Found yellow tags at half for the police station set and space center.

Random find of the day: Imperial Flagship at WM for $260 - 10% discount. The box was super beat up and torn but looked like everything was there. Did WM even stock this? How did they come up with the price?
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
^ Weird as someone else found IF at Lego S@H recently. $260 though sounds like a manager knows the Lego collectors market too well.

Nice find, if you wanna trade a maul set LMK

@lulwut Probably an online return and then it was priced wrong. I doubt Walmart is going to be into charging aftermarket prices.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
@bsiu922 were they marked that or did you scan them? I need to start scanning that set. One I haven't picked up yet.

My local Walmart today had 2 shopping carts full of Lego stuff as you walk in the Pharmacy side of the store. Series 5 minifigs for $1, PotC mill set for $15, lots of forbidden forest and freeeing doby sets for $4, Hagrid's hut for $15, Cars Oil Rig for $15, some polybags for $1 and then some Kreo's ($19.99 sets were $5).

I ended up getting the oil rig set and 3 Hadrid Huts.

Sounds like he went to Amazon.com and that was the price somebody was selling it. He doesn't know any better that it's a secondary market price.

@turtle1173- That's one heck of a selection. I'd love to snag Series 5, the POTC mill, a forbidden forest, and polybags for those prices.
