Ok, there's already a thread for custom modulars...why not have one for mini modulars! I haven't made any mini modulars, or at least not yet, but here are some pretty good designs I thought I would share!

So, I got the new Mini Modular set and finished building it. (Love the details and interesting uses of bricks.) But now I would like more to expand my town. Are there any good designs out there that would match with these? Is LEGO going to be making more of these? Or am I just doomed from my limited creativity?

I havn't seen any (I havn't been looking, though). Keep an eye on MOC sites - people may start mocing mini-buildings to match this line.

Any experience with missing brick in 10230?
  • kufkuf Member Posts: 66
I didn't have any missing bricks. My hotel sign was slightly misprinted though. The 'L' looks a little funny.

I haven't seen any out there to match yet either.

I am also hoping LEGO will make mini versions of all the modulars they release.

So far we've only built GG and FB, i've just looked in the bag and the hotel sign looks fine.
I think it would be a little strange if they didn't do all of them but i'm guessing it will be a while to wait if they do.

They may do subsequent models as individual sets. Or after looking at turning Pet Shop into a mini they may just stop there :).

We had no missing bricks, every time we thought there was we were able to find the piece. It's definitely a set where we thought that we were missing a piece a lot more often. Our sign is fine too.

The plan around here is that we make our own but we haven't started yet, we'll be sure to post if we manage to make anything worth sharing, what the chances of that are I don't know :).

Check on Flickr. There are some Moc'ers out there that have done a couple of their own Mini Modulars.
I had no missing pieces. Tons of extra tiles and such though.
It's an excellent build like you say. Like little works of art.

I found a picture of a Pet Shop moc. Looks pretty good. Too bad I'm not that creative.

Well, we finished it tonight 1 piece missing, plenty of extra bits though.
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
I was missing 3 light grey 1x1 tiles but had 3 extra dark tan 1x1 tiles (beside the 70 odd extra little bits that come with the set). Just replaced them from my own and called it a draw.

    Love the pet shop!
And hey the other one is mine! Any feedback from brickset members on that would be incredibly helpful!

@jadedanc, thanks for your support on my Cuusoo project! Do you have any comments on it or on any of my other models? I'm always looking to improve them.

@samiam391 I haven't even tried my hand at mini-mocs sets yet (other than the set) I am still working on the football stadium. :) I LOVE how ya'll can take such a small piece and add so much detail and make it almost exactly like it's "big brother" I just love all the ones I have seen especially the Starbucks (I am stationed in Pacific Northwest so I see these places everywhere!) It is just down right amazing and the only feedback I would have is "MAKE MORE!! :)

Thanks @jadedanc! Your kind words really mean a lot to me! I have two others uploaded on Cuusoo and actually just uploaded two more (Will be available for all to see within 72 hours when they pass), a mini apple store and mini theater. Check them out when you get a chance, and thanks again for the feedback!

@samiam391 You are quite welcome! The praise is well deserved! I will go find those others now. :) IF you ever decide to sell the instructions, I am FIRST in line!

Was hoping to see your mini modulars samiam391. Are pics online elsewhere?
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,492
^^I've got a few still up on CUUSOO, but a few I erased after I got the data I wanted. The ones I deleted, I'd be happy to shoot you pics of if you'd like @bmwlego and @Pitfall69. Just shoot me your E-mail.
I've made the Starbucks Mini with actual LEGO bricks, and have pictures of that as well.

    Loved your ice cream shop!
    Thanks @jadedanc for the links!

@samiam391 - That's some great work there. I wish I had any kind of MOCing talent. I really like the mini-modulars but I don't really have the Lego architecture gene. Any chance you'd be willing to share part lists/directions?
  • ChanMcLChanMcL Member Posts: 1,224
Has any1 got the Petshop and Town Hall instructions and part list??
And willing to share it? Or for a very low cost?
