Does anyone have a good suggestion on where I can get an olive green cloak for the Legolas minifig? I was originally going to use McGonagall's, but now that I have it on the figure, I can see that it's way too green. Does LEGO make a full-length olive-colored cape (or something close to it), or would a custom cape be my only option?

I'm looking for something along the lines of the cloak that Pippin has, only in standard mini-fig size. It's still beyond me why they chose not to include a cloak for Legolas. I can forgive the missing quiver (though I would not have minded it being part of his hair piece), but the missing cloak just makes no sense.

Have you tried the quidditch set, (the main picture shows white - but i believe there are two dark green capes on the baddy team - you could maybe bricklink the capes).

I think it's the same cape as used for the CMF Elf - so maybe ebay/bricklink/trade for an Elf perhaps, if its easier/cheaper than getting quidditch players.

As far as I'm aware there isn't a cape in olive green. Looking at the figure a brown cape might work with the torso printing colours. I know this probably isn't 'movie accurate' but might be the best option unless TLG make another version of Legolas including a cape.

I can't remember if it is poundland or poundworld that sell 10 sheets of thin foam like material in different colours for a quid. It's in the kids craft area. Some is about 2mm thick - don't get this. You can get some which is much thinner, between 0.5-1mm. It is very easy to cut to shape and makes great capes. It is slightly stiffer than material and does not fray, but much better wearing than paper. There is a bright green and a dark green, but not olive green.

Olive green may not be the color I think it is... For reference, I'm trying to find a full-length cape the same color as what Pippin is sporting in the Mines of Moria set.

If it's hard to tell from the box, there's a larger picture of just Pippin down the page in the eBay section.

Yep that's olive green (same colour as Legolas' coat and the orcs skin). It's a nice new colour.

If you go onto bricklink and search 'cape' you'll see all currently available colours. But no olive green, yet.

In searching for suitable fabrics for sails, I've come across an article talking about fabric for use on capes and such. It's called Broadcloth. I have yet to search for it at a fabric store, its on my to do list for today.

    Here's the article,

should you not be able to find the right color, maybe you can follow the authors directions and make your own.

Thanks for the help. Looks like I'm going custom for now.

Did you put a cloak on Legolas? If so, how does it look. I tried one on a highlander earlier (another long haired figure) and it didn't look right due to the hair over the back of the cloak, not allowing it to flow properly. I guess this is why Lego left him without a cloak.

I didn't think it looked terrible, but I ultimately took it off, though this was more due to the fact that when I went back and rewatched the films, he really doesn't sport the cloak as often as I remembered. I did do a dark green cloak on Aragorn, though, and I think that particular figure looks A LOT better.

I was kind of disappointed that the Helm's Deep set (which is still awesome) didn't include a hairpiece for Theoden. Don't get me wrong, his helmet's detailing is superb, but since he does have his kingly attire under the armor, I was hoping for a non-combat headpiece, too. (Without any hairpiece, he looks strikingly like Heisenberg from Breaking Bad!)

So I went looking through my minifigs and ended up taking the hair off of Anakin from 7256 (so what? it gets burned off anyways...). And, it looks pretty good. I believe it's the exact color of Theoden's facial hair printing.

    Lo and behold,

What do you think? I'm not sure how common this hair color/piece is, since I only had one of them.
