Are there Mid-Year Clearance Sales on LEGO?

Not sure if this is the right category, if it's not, I'm sorry. But I remember seeing a conversation in here about a summer clearance when all the new releases come out. Does anyone know if this is the case?...like the case in Feb. at Walmarts/Targets? If so, when? With LOTR, Star Wars, Friends, Monster, Ninjago stuff coming out, I know my local Walmarts/Targets are already stocked full of sets with POC and HP still.

^ No. Older sets (eg HP,POC) get discounted to get rid of them, to be replaced by the new ones.

Then maybe THIS year will be the final year for HP and PotC? Last year was my first summer since coming out of the dark, and it seemed like the HP and PotC sets were discounted and clearanced to make room for... mostly the same HP and PotC sets. Kinda like what a lot of Wal-Marts did at the beginning of this year with AC and SW.

The Walmart mid-year toy re-stocking doesn't have such a defined date as the day after Christmas. I looked back at my Lego expenditures and noticed that I bought 8098's and 8097's on clearance in Aug and Sept.

Last year Target started marking down just after July 4.
