ITV Daybreak "May the Fourth be with you"

Whilst at work I had the Tv on in the back ground. Around 8.05am Kate Garraway (I think that's her name) says "good morning it's May the 4th or May the fourth be with you, if you're a star wars fan" I was "working" so didn't sit glued to the tv but they didn't seem to mention anything more about it. It did make me do a bit of a double take as I can't understand why she would have said that unless there are other companies doing similar promotions today. Anyone else see it or know anything about it?

This isn't a Lego exclusive thing, it's been doing the rounds for quite a few years now, Lego have just piggybacked onto it!

As it is such a big day due to the size of the star wars coumnity it has got alot of attention especially from the media. Chris Evans said it on radio 2 and chris moyles mentioned it on radio 1. So many companies point it out. It is meant to be a day when people celebrate a hobby or person or whatever depending on what day it is. Companies with ties to Star Wars such as licenses often run a promotion today, HAsbro being the other big example other than lego.

It is also flower arranging day as well.

^ I wonder why Lego didn't piggy back on the 2nd of those!

Given that talk like a pirate day (September 19th) repeatedly gets media mentions each year I'm not surprised May the Fourth does to.

More interestingly, I didn't realise anyone actually watched Daybreak...

I got an email from IWOOT earlier. They have a 10% May 4th promo as well. But their lego prices are way to high, even with 10% off.

Cartoon Network are having a May 4th day as well, with a marathon run of TCW episodes.

@CCC have you not heard that lego are dropping star wars in favour of flower arranging.
