Hello to the Brickset community!
I recently submitted a project to the Lego Cuusoo program based on the Disney
Frozen brand. Looking to gain votes and your support for this project and hoping
to get to the finish line with 10,000 votes! It was built for my daughter and
it just became an obsession from there. I've been a long time observer of

While cool, Disney already has a brand new Princess line. Considering how well Frozen has done, I just can't fathom Lego and Disney are not already designing a Frozen set or two for that line or already designing an entire Frozen line already including this sort of castle.

I thought it was a bit 'bizarre' that the initial wave did not include at least one Frozen set, although, I can see the advantage of waiting and putting out several sets or a line.

Thank you for your interest and comments! I agree that Lego missed the boat so to speak on the first wave of Disney Princess sets. As far as I know, Frozen and it's characters are not yet included in that license but Elsa and Anna should be officially announced soon as official Disney Princesses! Lego approved my project for voting on the Cuusoo site so my hope is that even if they are currently obtaining the Frozen license, they at least look to my build as a guide on how to make it. I can't imagine the Ice Palace made with anything other than translucent bricks and pieces. It is made from ice after all. Again, thank you for your support and interest!

While your submission is very well done, I suspect there is zero chance this would be approved as a Cuusoo set. As mentioned above, it is a near certainty that the next wave of Princess sets will include something from Frozen

While Cuusoo hasn't yet prohibited submissions for licenses they already have, I would be shocked if there is not an unwritten rule that they will not approve a project from one if those licenses

Hi All, Following on from the BTTF Delorean and the Ghostbusters Ecto 1 I was wondering what people thought about putting forward the idea of the A-Team van and figures as in the picture?
If people think it would be viable could someone advise how we can put the idea to Lego Cuusoo?

You'd need more than just a few minifigs. You'd probably need to design the A-team's van at least then upload the project to cuusoo, then get on A-team forums and get members to vote on cuusoo to show it is popular.

I'd love to see a Wacky Races set with 3 cars and some track scenery (couple of trees, oil barrels, etc). I think there were 11 cars in the cartoon series but I think 3 would be fine in an official set - Dick Dastardly and Muttley in the Mean Machine, Penelope Pitstop in the Compact Pussycat and maybe Sergeant Blast in the Army Surplus Special.

I fully expect a Tardis to be up within a day or two, with a well presented design making it to 10k votes fairly fast. The only question is which doctor ends up being produced.

Retro could work, but I think it'll likely be one of the newer doctors just because those will be more familiar to a global audience. My uncle has been a Whovian for decades, and back when he was a kid Doctor Who was pretty obscure here in the States. Nowadays, perhaps in part thanks to the Internet, a lot of the kids at my younger brother's school are familiar with the series in its current iteration.

Unlike Doctor Who, most of the current notoriety of the BttF and Ghostbusters franchises comes from reruns and re-releases of the original movies, not from ongoing media projects.

I'm pretty astonished to know more people have heard of The Mysterious Cities of Gold. I spent a fair amount of my young adulthood hoping that they'd release this series on DVD, and when they finally did, I was surprised at how well it held up (unlike Thundercats, Silverhawks, Teddy Ruxpin, etc., etc.).

Agree with @Aanchir. I think the retro thing is nice, but going with a modern doctor would dramatically expand the audience. I know many fans who are only vaguely award of Doctor Who from the pre-modern era. The show had a way more fringe fandom in the US before the current incarnation.

I already had a TARDIS built, but never considered putting it on Cuusoo because of the obvious license conflict. After reading the recent update from Cuusoo I submitted the model. My project features the tenth Doctor.

What about Ulysses 31 - Great spaceship he had that split into a few pieces. Spaceship, Ulysses, the crew, maybe the mechanical Cyclops that got him wandering through Olympus in the first place. Great potential.

I'm actually not really that bothered about which Doctor is made. I want two things to come of out it - Cybermen and Daleks. Oh, and Davros obviously. It would be great if Daleks were made like minifigs, so you could put a minifig torso onto a dalek base for Davros.

But it will lead to a dilemma. What will this now be called?

I am happy with this shift with Dr who. I spent most of this winter designing a set of 16 figures, the image of which is posted on here somewhere, that I have on display at home and was a bit disapointed I couldn't throw them up on Cuusoo, now I can. Actually I just did and am waiting for the project to leave review. That said I see it as a bit of fun. I don't doubt that lego Dr Who is on the way with or without Cuusoo, but cussoo may just slow lego to gauge the pubic appetite.

Probably depends on the nature of the project. Some subjects are going to be more viable as a business case than others. Of course, chances are the first Doctor Who project to reach review will be something reasonably modest in scope — for instance, a minifigure-scale Tardis or Tardis console room, with one Doctor and his companions — and not something that would be absurdly pricy or require specialized or retired molds. So I'm definitely of the opinion that it won't be long before we see a viable project reach review!

I'm still waiting for a really knock-your-socks-off Doctor Who project to appear on LEGO Cuusoo. This is the one that I like most of those currently there. It's nice, detailed, well-proportioned... but the roof doesn't look too great, and there's no interior. My favorite LEGO TARDIS is this one. It does rely on stickers/prints rather than doing more of the outside texture with bricks, but it's beautifully proportioned, has a charming interior console room and a mostly accurate exterior (ideally, you'd want one more panel on the doors), and the way it unfolds is brilliant. If that one were posted to LEGO Cuusoo, I'd support it in a heartbeat and get all my friends to do the same.

Doing a TARDIS in mini-figure scale is in all likelihood impossible given the unrealistic proportions of the figures (ie, nearly as wide as they are tall). I've tried making one that's as close to scale with mini-figures while retaining as close to the approximate dimensions and had similar results to the one that Aanchir first mentioned though there are numerous aspects of that one which are completely wrong and is often the case with LDD models the brick-built result wouldn't hold up well.

If mini-figures were left out of the equation a decent TARDIS made to a much larger scale would hold potential though. I haven't bothered with trying to make one though I once sketched out some ideas for one.

^ It's the same problem with buildings and vehicles too. Minifigs are just too wide.

Use minifigs and have buildings / things of the wrong proportions or forget minifigs and have something close to the correct proportions.

I'd like to see at least one enemy in the set that makes it - either cybermen or daleks.

For example - a smallish tardis (no interior necessary), one doctor and two daleks.

I don't care too much for the interior of the tardis, simply because it cannot be done. Get the recognizable exterior right and forget the interior.

I designed this a few years ago for a friend. It's properly scaled for mini-figures but without doors or an interior. It would require eight stickers which I haven't yet designed (which is why he has yet to receive it).

Nice basic shape for the TARDIS there prof, but the sides are a little too flat. Using stickers for so much detail on the sides is too much IMO when it could be done with Lego pieces.

My TARDIS is the same width as yours, both the protruding base (an important detail) and the main box. I've been wracking by brain trying to find a way to make a functional door for it in the 3 stud wide area I have between the corners, which are 1x1 bricks.

Still waiting for my Dr Who project to clear review . Hopefully up tomorrow. The thing is I see a lot, mine included, being similar. Not surprising given the characters are very well defined so there are only so many ways to represent them and the Tardis will appear in almost every offering and there are only so many ways to build a blue box. Just as long as one makes it to 10,000 that would be nice.
