[Master thread] Additions to the Brickset Database

edited May 2012 in The Database
This is a new master thread aimed at making members aware of what is being added to the database and what has been added recently, and hopefully improving the information even more!!

If a set or item has been addded without an image it will not appear in the 'New In Database' box on the home screen so please take the time to browse the recently added items from the Brickset home page, under the data mining section or follow the link.

Any items that you feel has incorrect information, needs additional information or you can provide a good quality image for that we don't have, please contact one of the database admins or preferably post and discuss on this thread. Items added by an admin or changes made to that item can be viewed in the 'change log' on the set details screen, so any questions or queries can be directed to them to answer.

Any items that are not in the database and need to be added or considered for addition please post on this thread also. Most items that are being added that have a release date earlier than 2012 are exclusives or promotional items, but that doesn't mean there are still not sets on the 'loose'. If a set or item added is in the Bricklink catalogue that doesn't have an official LEGO allocation we will use their set number or allocation as an easy cross reference. Any set or item that doesn't we will try and use an easy allocation reference of our own. The database 'At Present' only goes back as far as 1966!

Please share your comments and feedback!!

Hello, I have found sets on bricklink that are not yet part of brickset database. for example I own this set and a few other sets, mostly Dacta from memory, that are not listed. Is this an oversight or will the missing sets be added to brickset in the future ?
while I am here I have another question regarding the minifigure database. Minifigures with stickers are not added to the database and only the blank torso minifigures are added. will the database in the future reflect the correct stickered version minifigures for these type of sets ?
Thanks in advance for your reply

We don't have all Dacta sets listed by any means but I'll get that one added.

Minifigs with stickers are I believe considered to be 'counterparts' by BrickLink, where the data comes from, and we don't show them because it would get too complicated.
  • GladiatoringGladiatoring Member Posts: 11
Just wondering why the blank torso versions are added , and not the stickered versions , when the sticker versions are the version on the instructions ? . Bricklink list both so they can sell both versions, I agree listing both would be complicated, but to list the minifigures from sets as you are here, I think you should be listing the instruction version minifigure.

I was looking for Happy Meal sets. They are listed on bricklink: & in particular: McDonald's Racers Car 6 - EZ Rally

The minifig data has a couple of glitches. The cop from set 600 isn't showing up. (it should be listed in '78)
The shell guy from 604 has a plain torso with sticker.
  • brickingbricking LAMember Posts: 58
so i realised i could temp add set 6600, then add plain-torso cop (pln106) as a loose minifig. He is now showing up dated as 1970! For some reason even though 600 & 6600 are nominally the same set, 600 does not have a mf included (& 7 fewer pieces).
  • brickingbricking LAMember Posts: 58
I've figured it out now... the data for 600 ambulance has got switched with 600 cop car. The ambulance has the right number of pieces, inc. mf, for the cop car & vise-versa. It also explains why pln106 is dated 1970.

Thanks I'll look into it and sort it out.

I hope this is the right place for it, but I found a gear I own that isn't in the database yet:

The database of the keychains likely isn't complete yet, as there aren't any from before 1998 to be found, so maybe this one could be added as well.

    Yes, thank you, now moved.

    I've got Dutch versions of:
All "Produced by Ameet Sp. z o.o. under license from the LEGO Group." and "Published by Juniorpress Magazines B.V., Amsterdam."

I also have Dutch versions of these activity books:
    - City: The Harbour
    - City: Trains
    - City: At the Airport
    - City: Police
    - City: Crooks
    - City: Activity Book
    - City: The Forestpolice Intervenes
    - Ninjago: Spinjitzu Power
    and a hardcover story book:
    - City: Fire in LEGO City

All are with LEGO pieces. The City Activity Book comes sealed with a 30017 polybag.
I can provide piece count for all of them, barcodes, RRP is printed on every cover in €, and I can take picture's but I'm not sure what the quality of those will be.

Thanks for taking the time to post on this thread. Only a few of the activity books have been added to the database as I haven't had a chance to sit down and do them all.

Official pictures and RRPs for these releases are pretty easy to obtain. I wasn't going to add piece counts as my books go in to storage pretty quickly after purchase and combined with the fact that not many collectors bother with these. But if you have piece counts that would be great!

I've always liked these books and although obviously not as good as the Dorling Kindersley books still worth a purchase or two at the right price.

Now in the DataBase are entries for complete collections of CMF's series 1-7 as well as entries for sealed boxes.

It looks like adding a complete collection to the sets I own (basically, checking the "I own" checkbox for the complete Series 1, for example) doesn't update my minifig collection. I would expect the minifig browser to show "In sets: You own 1" under the minifigs (for Series 1 in my example).

(Yes, I clicked the "Update your minifig collection" link.)

^^ There's another data set that needs populating for that to work. Most 'which figs are in which set' data automatically comes from BrickLink but as these are 'sets' not listed there, that data needs to be added manually.

I'll add it to my to-do list...
  • FayriesFayries Member Posts: 4
    Thank you, Huw.

I just noticed that the Collection Analysis feature is broken by the new feature. I currently own a complete collection of each of the 6 first series and want a sealed Series 7 box, and the Collection Analysis line for Collectible Minifigures is :

    Collectable Minifigures (All subthemes)
    Total sets: 119
    You own: 0
    You need: 119
    You want: 1
    % owned: 0

    I hope this helps!

^^ I've just done this, and I'll investigate ^, it could just be a caching/overnight data consolidation thing.
  • FayriesFayries Member Posts: 4
    Cool, thanks!

For some reason, on the minifig collection page, the collectible minifigs included in sets and the same minifigs marked owned as "loose" are added up in the menu counters. For example for Series 2, I currently have in the menu :

    Collectible Minifigures / Series 2 Minifigures (44, 25 unique)

    I own 2 Series 2 complete collections and 1 col017, 2 col019, 1 col020, 1 col021, 2 col022, 1 col024, 1 col025, 1 col026 and 2 col030, which correctly adds up to 44 Series 2 minifigs, but should be only 16 unique.

Aren't complete series and sealed box redundant? If you want to distinguish the sealed box from a complete collection that was put together, you can do that via the ACM. No other set in the database has a different entry for unsealed versus sealed set.
  • brickmaticbrickmatic Member Posts: 1,071
^ Nevermind. I just realized that there is a difference, silly me.

Found a couple of these in Target when in the US recently. Official LEGO but not on the site (the similar 'Portable Storage Case' are). Green says 499283 whilst Red is 499284.

This one too, don't know if it's official though.

On the Black Pearl, the black galeon figure is not included in the Minifig-list. Any reason for that? (

"Includes 6 minifigures: Jack Sparrow with compass, Will Turner, Joshamee Gibbs, Davy Jones, Maccus and Bootstrap Bill with assorted weapons"

Also, the minifig lists come from Bricklink; we don't maintain the lists ourselves.

I couldn't find this one in the database: Klutz Crazy Action Contraptions, see

I don't think it's B100-1 or B101-1. I have it and can provide images if needed.

That Duplo 30063 is from 2011 for sure, not 2012, so it says at the back of the bag and I remember buying it last year for a friend's kid. It's always a freebie with some magazine.

I was gifted a friend's collection awhile back. Sadly no instructions but they were all contained in a few of the set boxes so here are some additional details for the ever-growing DB. I'm guessing the P#'s is the actual print design but no clue on the R#'s.

    Forestmen's Crossing [6071] / UPC = 042884060718, other numbers = R64790 & P54906071"
    size: 33x24x5.5 cm w/flip top

    Dark Dragon's Den [6076] / UPC = 042884060763, other numbers = R64790 & P54906076"
    size: 33x28.5x7 cm w/flip top

    Black Knight's Castle [6086] / UPC = 042884060862, other numbers = R64790 & P54906086"
    size: 47.5x28.5x9.5 cm w/flip top

    Enchanted Island [6278] / UPC = 042884062781
    size: 43x28.5x9 cm w/flip top
Sizes are width * height * depth, feel free to reorder and/or round up as needed.

I was going through some old SW-polybags when I found this keychain. It seems to be the same one as 3919, but it's not really alike. This one is from 2001, not 2000. And there is no sign of the number 3919. The only number I can find is the item number in the back left corner: 4128796.

I don't know if it's interesting or not, but here it is anyway :)

From the Master thread: Help identifying parts...
I'm trying to identify this helicopter - but not having luck. Anyone?[email protected]/7545090176/in/photostream/lightbox
It is part of set number 390 which odly enough isn't present here on brickset.
Does this qualify as a new addition to the database? I know it's real since I have it sitting here on my desk. A lovely thing to look at, too!

I noticed the site doesn't have a photo for a SDCC Batman and Joker set they handed out in 2008. I still have mine and would be willing to take photos for the site. I'm not sure who to contact and where to send the pictures. Let me know since I would love to help the site out as much as possible. I also have some of the new SW sets already and know there are no pictures of the mini figs yet as well.
