Does anyone know when and in what fashion 30160 Batman Jetski will be available?

Probably best to wait for the Sun promo when it'll most likely be available for 30p :-)

Curious which stores will be carrying these...

    @Huw: what's this promo about?

^^ "The Sun" is a UK tabloid newspaper that runs one or two promotions a year giving away free polybag sets with each purchase.

^ interesting :) Is the next date already known?

I have no idea whether there are any more Sun promotions on the horizon, or whether this will be ever be in it, but going on previous experience, there most likely will be and it may well be :-)

It comes with every purchase of The Sun newspaper in the UK??? Sheesh. This is awesome.

^ No, you (me) have to buy the (30) newspaper(s) then take the token(s) to W H Smith or Toys R Us, (wait while they discuss whether to let you have that many) then they will give you the set(s). (Then post them to forum members worldwide) :-)

^^^^ @DadsAFOL - you gonna reveal your source? Saw you had them on Bricklink.
  • DadsAFOLDadsAFOL Member Posts: 617
soon... I promise it did not involve an unlocked truck in the dark of night...

    ^ Heh-heh, understood. Thanks.

If the Sun does not run this promotion then The Mirror newspaper might?

These were apparently being sold at Legoland California, as reported in this very forum, I'll grab a link in a moment.

Yea I saw them at Legoland California. My friend works there and got one. A bunch of us went because he had free passes, I went to the Big Shop on the way out to grab a couple and they told me they sold out the day before within 2 hours of getting them. Pretty bummed. I'll maybe call and check back some other time.

Cool I hope they restock soon.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^ they are in stock. I passed on them as I couldn't determine if they were worth anything.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
@gmpirate when did you go? I think I'm going to stop by again tomorrow on my way to OC

And did you see if they have Kingdoms battle packs in stock? They were when i went, have been meaning to post about it
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654

ooohhh nice! can't wait to get hold of this polybag!
  • rmarkworthrmarkworth Member Posts: 88
I'd like to have it, too!
In germany you probably have to buy it for 6 euros (as other similar sets).

maybe, but the Sun ran 3 promos last year, the last Mirror one was 2010. Look on the bright side, whatever it's failings, and however degrading to your image buying it is, it's cheaper than the mirror.

@yys4u. Lol, did you clean them out? Went back to the park today and grabbed 10 of them. Went back a little while later and they were all gone!
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,394
^ I know my friend's wife went today and got 6 for me. :)

@gmpirate , @yys4u or @Russell844 - if any of you have one to sell I'd be interested. I'm local, in the OC... :o)
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Must not have any more stock as the bin was still empty when left at 5:00.
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,394
@Legogeek, I am not local. I live in the San Francisco area.
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
I'm interested in one set and can trade or pay. Let me know if any of you have spares!
  • LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714

Sorry, my bad. Anyway, if anyone has some to sell, I would be interested in buying one ~ thanks.

  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
@gmpirate Nope wasn't me. I went in around 3pm and only found 3 near the back counter. I asked if they have any left and they said they sold out. I picked up all 3, one for myself one for a local friend and one for someone else who doesn't need it anymore, so @legogeek I have an extra for you if you need it. I'm in the OC till Saturday or Sunday so maybe we can meet up for an exchange?

@rocao I'll try to stop by again on my way back home, maybe they'll have restocked by then.

would love to get a hold of a couple of these if anyone here can help
  • jadeirenejadeirene Member Posts: 474
I'd love one or two if anyone has any to spare or is able to pick up more. I can pay or trade other polybags. Thanks!
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
Why wouldn't they put these on SAH for purchase? Much like the Harry Potter Mini Hogwarts Express (initially free with Diagon Alley), then 2 months later they dumped on SAH for $5.

Anyone in the US able to source a number of these and keep them to one side I would be happy to trade them when the Team GB Olympics minifigures become available. Anyone interested please PM me? http://www.brickset.com/profile/?kempo81

    Thanks :D
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,394
Keep in mind all three of those state "FREE LEGO Set with purchase". I have tried to buy sets like these separately in stores and online and they will not sell them by themselves, even if they have a price.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
I'll see if I can acquire some to help out the folks across the pond. If the Olympic minifigures turn out to be legit I'd definitely be willing to trade for them.
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
Unless Lego produces a trillion of these, they will fly off the shelves, and be relatively unavailable.

These are going to be tough to get otherwise. Between kids, AFOLs, resellers and everyone in-between - $5 for a cool Batman jetski with a black-suited dark knight is impossible to pass-up.
  • weinnerweinner Banned Posts: 148
I still don get it. What's the hype all about?
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^Batman minifig easily goes for ~$10, you can get one plus a couple bricks for the Jetski at half the going market price. Voila, hype.
  • weinnerweinner Banned Posts: 148
I guess I get that but he's available in a couple other sets and if people are so into them the can get a couple minifigs plus way more bricks with the fig price under 10$, viola.

Unless your just trying to make a profit but from what it looks like the market will be more saturated with these more so I doubt the fig price will go up for quite some time. Probably even go down, viola.

    I just placed an order too. Why does shipping have to be so expensive! ;_;
  • scratchdeskscratchdesk Member Posts: 155
    same here, thank you!

PS friends ice cream one in stock too.
  • PlayftlPlayftl Member Posts: 178
    and city race car
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
Yeah, I wish TRU didn't mark up stuff so much on regular sets or I could have probably gone up to $100 to get free shipping. As it is, I just can't justify paying their markup.

These will make great little gifts for my nephews. They're both really getting into superheroes now and will love these.
