Is there a Thread Bumping Rule?

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a rule for thread bumps? I know there is on other non-LEGO forums but not sure about here. I want to make sure they are allowed before I do a thread bump.

Thanks!

Nope. In fact we encourage older threads to be revisited. That being said, I never understand the idea of bumping for bump's sake. If you have something of value to add to an older thread, then by all means do so. The new comment will (in most cases) jump the thread back near the top.

^ this is the type of thing youll see on other forums but youll never see here. People tend to ignore bumped threads but respond to updates with value.

Okay thanks. I did an "udated list" bump to my Marketplace thread. That's okay right? I couldn't edit the original thread because the time expired.

^ Yep - this seems entirely appropriate.

One reason I love this forum is this really isn't abused!

I mean it's pretty much common sense. If you have something to add, feel free. But say, if you're trying to sell something nobody is interested in, then posting 'Bump' to your thread once a week will just get people annoyed at you rather than a sale ;) But people are usually keen to have things revisited with new points of view and such.

The search on the word BUMP took me here. This is good info, and I have wondered about the policy. Thanks!

Well, in the Marketplace I can see why people bump.
