Resealed Box?

Hi, I've noticed some extra tape on the side of this box, however it looks like proper Lego tape in that it has a black mark in the middle. It has the tabs you break on one side but on the long side there is tape? Is this normal or potentially a shop return with bits missing? Thanks.

    Hi,
I would check to see if the box is still glue-sealed around the edges. If it is, no worries. I seem to recall seeing that "Lego tape" randomly on the boxes.

That looks to be a LEGO sticker..
Most jerks that steal the parts out of the box may not put the sticker back in the same spot where the peeled it off from, so if you look in light you may see the old spot where the sticker once was, then I would be concerned. Especially if you find it in a TRU, Walmart, or Target.. Otherwise roll the dice and see what you get :-)

It was from legoland Windsor and the box is otherwise pristine. there is a small gap where the tape is but I can't think how things can be extracted through that gap. I just wondered whether Lego may be 'support sealing' long edges of boxes?

If it is from a LEGO store then it is probably fine IMO

That's an odd location for tape, and it's not a packaging feature for 8095 based on looking at boxes on eBay. If you want to be absolutely certain, and it's still possible, I'd exchange it. If you are going to open it to build, and don't mind waiting, you can always get replacement parts for free from customer service if it turns out to be missing parts.

Since Legoland is managed by Merlin and not TLG, I doubt they have access to the 'special' tape shown in your picture. I know it's a little way for you @johnsbricks, but I'd either have it exchanged or get in contact with CS like @rocao suggested. It is unlikely that TLG will do anything until it is confirmed there are parts missing so if it is for yourself, you're better off opening it up and then claiming the missing parts - if are there are any.
