He made a good point about maybe young kids not being into LOTR, and older kids having to decide between spending their money on a good season of Star Wars and Super Heroes or LOTR. Possibly might go the way of POTC, time will tell.

I hope it doesnt do a potc or pop as imo these are amazing sets. I think people (general public) will only get interested in the sets once the Hobbit comes out. And they will sell better then but Id be surprised if its a star wars size frensey when released. And i dont think these will hold their value afterwards. As those who want it will get it when it comes out and lotr stuff really fails to hold its value. Like for example when they released the action figure these can be bought for 50p on ebay now.

    Nice review.

I agree, and it is something I have felt for a while. I just don't see this being as big as some feel it will be. The reason is because of the kids.
I have seen kids on the playground play Star Wars, Ninjago, super hero and Harry Potter. I have never seen them play Lord of the Rings. Some will be drawn to the sets because of the castle theme, and older kids I suspect will enjoy it.

Looking at how crazy empty Ninjago is on the shelves at my Lego stores and most retail stores I have been to, and considering a new Ninjago wave will be coming out, I suspect far more kids will be drawn to that.

I think LOTR will be a big sell with adults, but I do not see this more than a two year run at this time.

I am glad to see you noted Eowyn was missing. That is my pet peeve.
I also agree in that I think Mines of Moria or Weathertop will be the bigger selling sets in this line.
