I agree, and it is something I have felt for a while. I just don't see this being as big as some feel it will be. The reason is because of the kids.
I have seen kids on the playground play Star Wars, Ninjago, super hero and Harry Potter. I have never seen them play Lord of the Rings. Some will be drawn to the sets because of the castle theme, and older kids I suspect will enjoy it.
Looking at how crazy empty Ninjago is on the shelves at my Lego stores and most retail stores I have been to, and considering a new Ninjago wave will be coming out, I suspect far more kids will be drawn to that.
I think LOTR will be a big sell with adults, but I do not see this more than a two year run at this time.
I am glad to see you noted Eowyn was missing. That is my pet peeve.
I also agree in that I think Mines of Moria or Weathertop will be the bigger selling sets in this line.
