Yep, keep checking. Public Transport 8404 is back in stock.

Don't rely on the email notification for restock, though... lol

^ I'm still waiting for my Grand Emporium alert from October 2011. ;o)

VW Camper and Shuttle Expedition now back in stock. Close enough in price to pair together, as I just did.

^ VW Camper now out of stock.
  • littletokilittletoki Member Posts: 519
That was ridiculously quick. The odds of getting a TB or GE seem slim at best now.

^No kidding. And TRU E-mail back in stock notifications have to be the worst on the planet.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
MMV shows in stock, but none get added to your cart when you try
  • legomyLEGGOlegomyLEGGO Member Posts: 63
It isn't so much if they will, it's more when they will, and if it will be done before the deal(s) end.
  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658
By the time GE and PS are restocked, I'll be sleeping or working, and I'll miss it. They sell out like crazy. I think its time to call it quits for me.

Anyone know if TRU is restocking the sets online, or if its out for good?
Yup. They do restock through the week. It's hit and miss. Some sets will be, some won't. And, you never know when. They were out of the Shuttle 10231 on Sunday when I checked, but checked this afternoon and they were in stock, so I snagged 2. I just checked a minute ago and they are out of stock again.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
TB came back yesterday afternoon, but it wouldn't let me add even one to my cart. Then it was gone ten minutes later. When the sale goes live, the modulars and other sought after sets go in like 20-30 minutes. I think they go that fast when TRU restocks as well, so the odds of getting anything are very slim. The best chance is to keep refreshing the TRU website every 5-15 minutes, but that is a complete waste of time for me. Even if you happen to find the modulars, you may not be able pair anything you really want with it, and by checkout time you could have already missed out. The best way to definitely get in on this, is to get in when the sale goes live, IMO.

Checked out 3 TRU today. Stock was pretty bad except for City & Star Wars.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
I've gotten 2 Public Transport Stations, 4 MVRs, and 2 Unimogs. I would get two of the passenger trains, but all the stores I went to only had 1. There are some sets out there. I've seen 5 MVRs at each of 3 stores I went to. Tons of city airports (3182) at all of them.

Heh, I thought I was the only one waiting for restock alerts.
I am keeping a weathered eye on the Pet shop but I am not holding my breath. And even when these do restock it always seems to be at an inopportune time. After all, some of us need to go to work and cannot afford to stare at TRU's site like a panther on its prey :-)

7985 city of Atlantis is now on sale at TRU for $55.98, which stacks with the BOGO. So, you get 40% off RRP when you buy two of them.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
^ make that all Atlantis sets appear to be 20% off, and all stack with BOGO
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 819
At TRU.com the City Police station is........121.99! What a joke!
  • legomyLEGGOlegomyLEGGO Member Posts: 63
^Bwahahaha. I noticed that the other day. Safe to say that most of us are very keen on TRU prices, and know what and when to shop there.

If I weren't spoiled by the 50% clearance of these at Walmart earlier this year, I would be all over this

Yeah that is one I would love to get many of for the white column bricks. So wanna do a Roman MOC :)
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^I needed the white column bricks too, but unless you need the rest of the spare parts in general, I found it cheaper to buy them separately on Bricklink this past week. Got a bunch in tan too, both of them for use in a Museum MOC.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
Nice I will have to check that out :) Thanxs!

Tower Bridge as well. Both PS and TB let you add 2 of the same item to your cart

Cool, just came here to post it. TRU will keep getting restocks, so you may get lucky on the others if you keep a look out.

Went to TRU today, and they had exactly two of them. Bought and... bought!

Everything else at TRU was vastly overpriced though, even with the 50% BOGO, regular retail prices at say Walmart were still better.

Just saw that myself about Pet Shop! Two more for my modular street, wahoo!
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,492
^Thanks for that @The_Brick_Builder! Got 2 pet shops for myself as well!
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
^Yea I grabbed a pair as well, now if I could only get a pair of GEs. GE and TB are in the top sales so I assume they go very fast when those get restocked. I've noticed this with Tower Bridge at least. I think the 'best selling' page updates everyday, sometime in the early morning.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
GE and PS just came back in 7:50 am eastern.
  • lulwutlulwut Member Posts: 417
Apparently I got the last PS. Couldn't pair it up with anything else but the City Airport.

^It's weird. I grabbed a pair of the GE. Minutes later, I couldn't put either GE or PS in my cart, but both were available to me. When I tried to add them it said there is limited inventory and it has reduced my quantity. Then it showed an empty cart. Ten minutes later, and the site now shows them out of stock. TB did the exact same thing to me yesterday. It showed 'in stock', I went to add to cart, it wouldn't let me add anything, then a few minutes later it was out of stock again.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Wow - that was very quick! Luckily, I didn't really need more of either (have 3 of each at the moment), but you have to wonder if they only got a handful in stock to sell out so quickly.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888

I would think at 8am eastern, they would have lasted longer than ten minutes. There must have been only a small supply. I have seen TB, GE, PS and others last as long as an hour during a restock, but they usually are gone in about 20 minutes. Make sure your credit info and everything is all ready for checkout, and don't waste time contemplating the purchase. Last thing a person needs is to miss a sale for being a bit too indecisive.

If the e-mail notification system does not work well, how are people catching these in stock? Is there a particular time of day where they seem to be adding them? Or do we just have a ton of AFOL constantly hitting refresh on the TRU website?
  • RennyRenny Member Posts: 1,145
I think most folks are just refreshing the site every now and Again.
  • parkerwilsonparkerwilson Member Posts: 142

    No surprise I missed GE....
Same... I now have the page open and am refreshing it every few minutes. Really don't want to miss out on the next GE or FB... would even consider 2 more PS.

Some small advice, for those of you with PayPal accounts, you can use PayPal and check out in about 30 seconds. It's many times faster than paying via CC. I believe I got the last two PS yesterday via paying PayPal.

    GE back in stock.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
@dougout - you must check the TRU site as often as I do, I was just coming on here to report that!
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,492
Thanks @Dougout and @brickupdate for the quick posts.. got myself 2!

    Next up, fire brigade.
