Hi!

I'd like to introduce myself at Brickset; my name is Andy, and I'm an ex-pat Scouser now living in MA. I'm a member of NELUG (New England LUG), and soon will be joining the UK's Brickish Association. I've enjoyed Lego ever since the early 70's, and have always had some around wherever I happened to be!

I like to collect and display the CC-style buildings, and have recently started to build MOCs (see examples of my Art-Deco cinema and Classical-style Library at my MOCpages page ). Since joining NELUG at the end of last year, I have exhibited / attended 3 shows here in MA, and love it! Will be doing more for sure ... and seeing other members' MOCs is certainly inspiring me to be creative.

My brother is also heavily into Lego, and is a Brickish member too. He still lives in the UK - and I'll have to see if he's on here!

Anyway, I look forward to discussing much at this forum. Thank you ...

    Hi Andy!
Fellow Brickish member here. I think I have spoken to your brother (via email) a few times...

Your MOCs are beautiful, the cinema is the perfect embodiment of what I'd like the next modular to be... or you could just email me a parts list and some instructions ;-)

    Welcome on board!

Edit: loved the NELUG monorail display by the way!

That cinema really is nice. There is actually a working art deco cinema in birmingham called the electric, I think they are on the web. If that model was on cuusoo I would be actively going on there for the first time and voting.

Hi Andy, welcome to Brickset. Nice models.
My wife and I built a version of the Lincoln Theatre in Miami Beach for a collaborative display at the 2009 'STEAM' show, so I've got a bit of a soft spot for art deco cinemas/theatres.

Hi LIT - sure - not an exact list, but certainly something that'll get you on track! I'll message you and/or feel free to email me. I'll be sending my app form for the BA this week, and my bro will put in a UK cheque for me (can't seem to find my NatWest cheque book here!).

    Thanks, bluemoose, for the welcome.

Those pics of the Art Deco town are awesome! I will certainly be re-visiting them to marvel at them again, and maybe look for some inspiration! My cinema is only 'pseudo' art deco, but what I see on those pages are the real deal!
