Technic: How to make a ballpoint pen clicker mechanism?

Something I have been looking into for a long time without managing to solve: How to make a ballpoint pen clicker mechanism in LEGO Technic?

Or more specifically: The mechanism should switch between two different states every time something is pushed once. Ideally, this should be as simple as possible, not containing more parts than necessary.

I have searched for ideas to see if someone has built something like this already, but failed to find anything.

The NES cartridge #71374 has a mechanism that might be similar to what you are looking for…?

Yes, I suppose you are right. Also there is a similar function on the VW campervan roof (the last one). 

Sadly, though, both seem very complex, and not what I am looking for in that sense. But it is a good start anyway!
