    Chrome? I don't know what chrome is.

    I don't have a single chromie of ANY description, not even a stormie, nor a white boba. (I live in the middle of nowhere, where such things don't exist).
    Even my 10188 Death Star didn't come with chrome lightsabre handles. THAT is how chromeless my life is... :o(

    So, is it too soon to ask if somebody in the UK is able to grab a spare (if it is a store exclusive) which they'd be willing to send to me (i'll cover post), is there anyone who could do that? (i'm assuming it's a store promo freebie of some sort, if it isn't then ignore me, as I have no idea of how these things get handed out).

    @legomatt Wow! You've been collecting SW over 5 years and you don't have any of the chrome figures!

    You can get (I presume) this figure the same way you got your ARF trooper last year, through a specific purchase value threshold, maybe £50?? Who knows??

    As for grabbing a spare, I doubt people will be willing to give up extras easily!!!!

    It has to be a re-release of chrome C-3PO, why else would he say "I wouldn't buy one in the near future" (paraphrase)
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
    ^ if it is that, presumably the value of the existing chrome ones that have risen steadily over the years, will now drop back?
  • DaddyDeuceDaddyDeuce Member Posts: 272
    ^ He is telling you not to buy the chrome C-3PO so you can *save* your money for the chrome ewoks.

    No, that is what he means @DaddyDeuce

    And he already said it's a chrome Ewok ;)

    @collect_that

    errr... I can't actually remember when i started collecting star wars, I didn't think it had been as long as you suggest - Most of my sets were bought over the past two or three years, i think, maybe four, after coming out of a long dark age, and trying to catch up with what i'd missed.

    (I appreciate that as database manager you have power to access collection data, and was able therefore to use it to verify the truth in my previous post, but, err, it is set to private, y'know? As in: I'd rather you didn't browse it, just cos' you can).

  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
    @legomatt, database admins don't have the power you suggest, we can't view collections marked as private, all we can do is edit/add set data.

    @legomatt

    My post was meant in no way to offend, so my apologies if I did! :)

    As for browsing your collection, that I cannot do, only interested in my own and what information I can add to the database to benefit others in their collecting quests.

    I did however browse your previous comments for my information, which are open to everyone!

    So... we all know Ewoks don't have orange eyes, right?
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830

    ^ hmm, no orange eyes, has to be a re-issue of the chrome C-3PO. It's a value hurter on the existing ones then, that's for sure.

    No, none of the staff or helpers, with the exception of Huw, can access individual collection information unless the collection owner has choosen to share the information with everyone. Huw needs access to the info in order to do backups, but even he would have to manually interrogate the back-end relational database to extract the info, should he have any interest in doing so ...

    What colour are JarJar's eyes?
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
    ^ that reminds me. @ prof1515, surely JarJar rates lower than Darth Maul?!
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
    Clue:- It has orange eyes.
    It's an Ewok isn't it?
    ^ Give that man a prize! :o)
    Note the person that said the figure has "orange eyes", also said that it was the chrome Ewok. So really, you can't say it's not the Ewok, and then use @flump6523's hint that the figure has orange eyes. ;-)

    I've never seen any of the SW movies, but I've got to say that the Ewoks are pretty cute. Are they good or bad guys? Cause I wouldn't mind having one as a pet.
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
    They're evil. They function exactly like the killer rabbit in Monty Python.

    They are good, and yes... quite adorable.

    but for a stroke of good fortune, wouldn't the ewoks have eaten Luke, Han, etc?
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
    ^I don't know. But for a stroke of good fortune, wouldn't an entire Death Star's worth of stormtroopers have at least grazed one of the heroes?

    Chrome Rancor!
  • princedravenprincedraven Member Posts: 3,764
    ^ I would actually prefer a plastic rancor, so you could use it rather than just collect it.
    Imagine if they made the promo a rancor, would sell shed loads of sets, especially if they had released Jabba's Palace.
  • cavegodcavegod Member Posts: 811
    Rancor IS coming so you will get your wish ;-)

    ^^I haven't really paid much attention to the rumour scene here, @cavegod, are you a local rumourmunger? How much stock can we hold in this comment?

    @bluemoose
    @atkinsar

    My humble apologies. I must have had prickly pants on yesterday, and totally misconstrued the post.

    Right, I shall now have to punish myself with a nice cup of tea and a biscuit. :)

    On topic: does anyone think they'll do a chrome R2 to go with it, someday? That would look fab.

    re: chrome c-2po... doesn't he have yellow (not orange) eyes?...

    How would a chrome Darth Maul even work?? though a chromed jedi hood would be freakin' amazin.

    I'd also like to second the vote for a chrome r2.

    Doesn't General Grevious have orange eyes? He'd be easy to chrome.

    ^^ How would a chrome R2 go with a chrome Ewok?

    Ps. No worries!
  • princedravenprincedraven Member Posts: 3,764
    ^ All this talk of chrome really makes me want a UCS Chrome 3PO to go with my (soon to have) UCS R2!
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
    ^ You could start a rumour there! :o)

    oh yes that would be nice! Chrome 3PO makes sense the two most iconic figures in star wars!

    As for Rancor just watch the Padawan Menace and see for yourself!
  • princedravenprincedraven Member Posts: 3,764
    So, what do you think we will need to spend to get one of these promo Chrome Ewoks?

    £50? £75?
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
    @cavegod,

    after watching the Padawan Menace, it made me wonder how many characters etc, might be based on designed items, yet not released. Rancor was one, but also characters like Ponda Baba and the Cantina chap. interesting...

    ^ A long time ago... :o)
    :) I take your meaning...

    The whole thing is make believe, so you can make it anything you want, which makes arguing about it pointless. It means something different to each of us.

    I still maintain that Buffy was the Chosen One waaay before this Anakin Skywalker was a twinkle in a midichlorian's eye.

    Edit: someone's going to use the "long time ago" argument against me here aren't they? :(

    From the dawn of time we came; moving silently down through the centuries, living many secret lives, struggling to reach the time of the Gathering; when the few who remain will battle to the last. No one has ever known we were among you... until now.

    There can only be one....
