I complained about not getting the TIE fighter - got a reply already that they will send out another.

Their warehouse guys must be working overtime at the moment.
  • SpaceCakeSpaceCake Member Posts: 291
So I actually never read, is it proper chrome or is it just painted on?
I don't think any of the promo figs are true chrome. I may be mistaken though, as I have never actually had a close up look at a chrome figure. However it seems unlikely due to the tedious amount of care that chrome requires.

True chrome is an absolute pig to keep clean. It has to be polished on a regular basis or else it goes a dull grey and completely loses it's mirror finish.

I only placed one order on the 4th and it was for two of the Earth Defense HQ sets ($45/ea.) The next day or so, they shipped the TC-14 and poster, but notified me that the ED HQs went on backorder. Then, a few days later, they canceled them altogether.
    So, I guess that means I'll walk away w/ a free TC-14...?

    Question...

What is this tie fighter everyone talks about? I have my posters and my TC-14s, but nothing else. Is something missing?
  • mountebankmountebank Member Posts: 1,237
Yeah, there's a polybag Tie Fighter.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
^ you don't live in the UK. Different deals.
  • mountebankmountebank Member Posts: 1,237
Ahh, I didn't know about the UK/US difference.
  • khmellymelkhmellymel Member Posts: 1,314
^^ I did too cheshirecat, no biggie but I emailed Lego CS and asked if I could swap it, and they said they would ship an English one to me. I haven't received it, but it does appear in my list of transactions (although no "In Process" or "Shipped" as of yet).

That poster is one great marketing thing, as much as I love R2 I had every intention of passing on it, and then I got the poster and he looks awesome! So awesome that I want to exchange my French poster for an English one so that I can get all the detail, LOL.
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
^Yep, phoned CS and they were really great, posting an English one out. He also asked me if I got my TC-14 and I hesitated for the briefest of moments, before admitting I did.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
Ah, that explains the TIE issue. Forgot about minor differences in the deals between countries.

    I didn't really want it anyway :p
  • mountebankmountebank Member Posts: 1,237
I also got a French poster. I like to think that if I call them and get the TC-14 question, I will be a paragon like cheshirecat.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
^ I'm assuming it was the one in Walmart in March.
  • AvengerDrAvengerDr Member Posts: 453
^ it has blue grebling. What's with TLG using blue instead of gray for the first versions of the TIEs?
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
So the TIE fighter isn't available in the US? I don't really care for it either, but just wondering how it works.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
I think it was something like (this was on the UK site) any Star Wars order got the R2 poster + TIE fighter. In reality, any order got it. I had it in my order, but it was not shipped. They are going to send me one. I didn't really want it either, but a free poly is a free poly.
  • JawascrumpJawascrump Member Posts: 112
I placed three orders and got two uk posters and one french one! I'm keeping the French one as foreign stuff tends to appreciate in value well (in the vintage sw world anyway)
Anniyingly I opened one of my tc14s and it is pretty scratched :(
Phoned Lego and they offered to exchange it if I sent it back. Not too keen on that idea if they have run out of stock.

    Anyone else had this problem?

I must say I am really pleased with all my sets- the boxes are all perfect.

I received my Grand Emporium today in mint condition from S@H. Surprisingly the shipping box was not beat up by FedEx.
  • alijoezacalijoezac Member Posts: 555
I've just had an e-mail from LEGO apologising for the delay in dispatching orders because of the extraordinary popularity of the May 4th promotion.

    Both my orders arrived yesterday!

Some of the Walmarts currently have them in the US. I assume that its set #8028.

I've just had this email from LEGO regarding an order place at S@H UK on May 4th...

    "Dear LEGO® fan,

Due to the extraordinary popularity of our LEGO® Star Wars™ May 4th promotion we are experiencing delays in our warehouse.

Your order will be processed as soon as possible and you will receive a shipping confirmation email when it is on its way to you.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused to you and your family. We would like to thank you for your patience.

    Kind regards,

Your LEGO Shop at Home team
    "

Which is interesting, but in my case rather confusing given that I had a 'Order Shipped' notification on 8th May...

    Anyone else?

@Huw, I suspect you might be changing Forum settings on the server or similar. This is the second attemp to post this (the first had discussion ID 4718) but that didn't seem to appear in the forum even though I had it bookmarked and when I refresh the root page I saw what appeared to be a new Forum format with RSS feed options too ;)

If you are not then something is amiss at the Circle K...

I had this email about an hour ago, even though I received my order yesterday??
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
^ me too, both orders dispatched and arrived a little faster than normal for S@H actually, but today I got the same email.
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
    FedEx just arrived... Woot! :)

Hang on, gotta go open my present! :)
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
Cool, in good condition, only a bit of edge rubbing on right side, nothing major...

TC-14 is not on the box, but it is listed as backordered for some reason...

Poster was in the box, number 909 out of 48,480. Anyone get a lower number than that?
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
Yep, my poster is numbered #101. I got my TC-14 and poster today, but no R2
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
@LegoFanTexas & @BoiseState Gratz on the low numbers!! :) Mine is like 17,000 something but I got my poster & TC-14 without buying on 4th/5th so not complaining at all!
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
So I received one of my orders today and the TC-14 was again listed as backordered and they had put in 2 SW minifig keychains (yoda and vader) as bonus I guess. Nice gesture to be sure, but not going to replace the TC-14.

^ Lucky, my TC-14 was also back ordered and they didn't add anything. :)
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
Weird how some people that ordered before me didn't get the TC-14, and some people that ordered after me got the R2.

@Cam_N_Stu - There's nothing amiss. Your original May 4th question was merged here with the May 4th Discussion.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
@pharmjod & @the_brick_builder I'd bet pharmjod's keyrings are error, I got a Battle of Naboo that I didn't order. I think they're so overwhelmed all their systems are breaking down. The extra set was on the order that they sent me the shipping notification email after the package had arrived. Also my invoices were not accurate at all, saying things were backordered that were in the box, etc.
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
The R2-D2 was ordered at midnight on the 4th, but TC14 backordered, other orders I placed 24 hours later, TC14 is in thr box with the items, go figure...
  • legomattlegomatt Member Posts: 2,548

I seriously hope they send you a TC-14 for being so honest, cheshire.
  • DeadareusDeadareus Member Posts: 264
2 of my 3 TC 14's are back ordered. I really hope I get them eventually. The 1 order that it shipped with was an order for a co-worker who'll be expecting to get his figure. Ugh.

Glad the sale was such a huge success. It was my first year participating. Fun times.

I didn't mean to go off on a tangent with the damaged boxes issue.
  • RobbRobb Member Posts: 144
My order arrived today with all expected items, but it also included at SW magnet set (item 6000391) that I did not order and was not included on the packing slip.

Was this an error, or does TLG throw in unexpected freebies now and then?
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
My invoice for my TC-14 sent by itself lists the price at $9.98, the R2 poster at $1.98, but on my invoice for the VW bus, it lists TC-14 at $1.98 and R2 poster at 36 cents. Weird!
  • monkeyhangermonkeyhanger Member Posts: 3,170
I have one order where i'm not sure of the TC-14/Poster/Tie status. My pick-a-brick order has posted, but no mention of the TC-14. Will they send it separately? The freebies were noted on the orignal order confirmation.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
@monkeyhanger. PAB comes from a different location to all other orders, so the TC-14 is likely to come separately. So long as they are on the original order, you should get them. If you look in your account, you will probably see the PAB marked as dispatched, but the others still as in process.
  • SupersympaSupersympa Member Posts: 534
Still in process for me and got the same email about delays last night....when i call customer service they say, do not worry, everything will be eventually shipped...so, I am awaiting....patience is a vertue they say ;)
  • Cam_n_StuCam_n_Stu Member Posts: 368
@Yellowcastle - Oh, I see! Thanks. Is there anyway to know that one of my threads has been merged into another one when it happens? Maybe a msg to the OP?

As I wasn't following this thread as I'm not particularly bothered about the TC-14, just about the rest of my none Star Wars order that LEGO said was delayed by the 4th May Promo...so I was unaware.
  • SpaceCakeSpaceCake Member Posts: 291
Got an email the Lego today telling me that:

"Due to the popularity of the recent Star Wars promotion, we are experience massive delays in our warehouse. You ain't gonna get your package for a loooooong time bitch. Sucks to be you. Thanks for your patience."

I'm more worried about their procedure of charging an account ONLY after the item has been shipped. I prefer to hand over the money as soon as I order, then I don't have to worry about spending it on something else in the meantime (which is a VERY real possibility).

I just got my second order. The delivery note says TC-14 and the poster and TIE fighter should be in there, but they aren't. Even worse, the PF battery box is faulty. It is the first time I have had two complaints with one order with Lego!

My order received yesterday was missing the TIE. I reckon Lego cannot cope with getting orders out at the moment. I'd prefer them to slow down and get them right, rather than try to get them out as quick as possible and make mistakes.

    ^ This...

Speed doesn't matter much if you don't get the orders right.

^ Exactly, two orders, and I have three complaints about them. I have never needed to complain before this. I'm not a big buyer direct, but there must be at least 8-10 orders in the last year for me with no problem at all. One of these current complaints is for a broken item, so that would have happened anyway. The other two are for missing items. I reckon they are going too fast to clear the orders and are making mistakes because of it, not properly checking items have been put in the boxes before sealing them and sending them off.
