murphquake: Another New Yorker

Hi all, I'm bill, which I rarely capitalize. I'm a native New Yorker from Queens, NYC, fortunate enough to live less than 3 blocks from a Lego Store, but didn't even know it was there until last fall. Then I got a brick calendar. Then the ambulance came out... and funny thing is... I'm a paramedic. And it snowballed.... I blame Lego George Lucas. Aside from wanting the Agents River set with "Dollar Bill" in it and a general search for a ood deal (like any real Noo Yawka!) I'm into Star Wars, CMFs and Ambulances. Other stuff as it suits my fancy and I got the MBA Kit 1 a week ago so I'm gonna run though those to see if I can learn something. In my free time I work and teach, and am fond of strong tasting beers. I'm a connoisseur of street food. I am predominatly nocturnal and have worked nights my entire adult life and do now. My favorite CMF is the S5 Punk Rocker. Any other questions just ask. I'm making a fool of myself on twitter @murphquake and am addicted to foursquare as well (murphquake on there too, go figure). Great to be here, looking forward to learning a lot!

Great to see another New Yorker on the forum. Are you aware of the New York LUG? @bmwlego introduced it to me. But, having two young children, I've not really had the time to attend a meeting.

@murphquake...hey man, we're neighbors...I'm about 8 blocks from the store and about the same to TRU, Target, etc. Welcome aboard!
I try to attend the MMMB Builds regularly...sometimes the Club Meeting with my kid.

@Huw never heard this song before, though with my strange luck (Luck of the Irish+ Murphy's Law = it's always strange) I'll end up hearing it 5 times more this year. Classic? Hmmm. However you've won my heart with the double "all time", think I'm gonna have to put "Dodgeball" back in my tablet (ADAA)

@legoDad I'm aware, hope you're not gonna be mad about the $3 open box incomplete 3836 Magikus game I found at TJ Maxx yesterday =-)

@DaddyWhale, yep I actually kept seeing the ILUGNY cards in the displays at the Lego Store (they're incredible!) and @bmwlego reached out to me.

@rocao you're right he should! I watched that whole video it's the least he can do! My pic is one of the amazing graffiti walls at The Point in Hunts Point, The Bronx, they have a whole warehouse covered in graffiti art and walls going up the block and some other nearby buildings, amazing stuff. Cookie Monster is the man!

You should definitely join ILUGNY :)
I'm a bit biased, but for me, it's been extremely rewarding.
Also, if you're that close to the LEGO store, you'll at least be able to make a few meetings every year.
