I learned that the reddish-brown plates can be brittle. I have purchased 5 of the bigger plates on Bricklink to replace them. Everything else is in like new condition.

Yes sorry I didn't make it clear, @CCC is correct. This is in my top 10 of Creator Expert sets. It was a blast to put it together, especially the captain's quarters. It has become too large but I would still love to put it back together piece-by-piece, but then I'd have to take it all apart again =).

Perhaps it's time for Creator Expert to makes a new ocean sailing vessel. My I dare suggest a large yacht, cruise ship, or river cruise like I see in the Viking commercials or even a 16th century trading cog or a 14th century war galley with rows of oars and sails for the Mediterranean.

I think I multi-level modern cruise ship may appeal to the masses. Four decks: engine room, cabins, amenities, and the deck.
