Nathan Sawaya Oscar Stattuettes

With the Oscars on the mind, I didn't know the Academy Museum had some Lego for sale by pro-Lego artist Nathan Sawaya.

Never knew the statuettes were handed out to the famous audience members at the Academy Awards a few years back, and became a highly sought-after item.

Apparently, this is the first time these official brick-built statuettes have been made available to the general public.

There's a signed card or certificate by Nathan that comes with it?

Worth it? hmmmm....

People have created instructions you can find online to make a pretty good replica of them yourself.

You’re really paying for the autograph and “exclusivity” of the packaging.  Pretty subjective as to whether this is worth $500, but to each his or her own. People spend tens of millions of dollars on what they view as “art” so no difference here.

Thx Russell. Yeah, $500- is a total rip off. If it was like signed by a major actor, and a unique print for it, I could sorta' understand, but this is outrageous.
