Inventory for the middle floor in Cafe Corner

I can't find this discussed in the forum...

Does any bricksetter have a parts list for the 2nd floor of Cafe Corner? I'm thinking of adding a floor through briicklink.

Of course I could just go through the manual and tabulate or do an inventory from my set, but an existing list would be more convenient.

If no one has one, I would be happy to put one together over time and share with those interested.

I don't think it would take too long to go through this section of the instructions and use the inventory on the back to total the parts up. :o)

I know I'd appreciate it. I'm still putting together my initial Cafe Corner via Bricklink but would like to eventually add another floor, so I'd find this useful to have.

I guess I'll try to put together an inventory then! I'll let you know when (if) it's finished. Happy to share @jtkauff and @parkerwilson

I can't remember the link at Eurobricks but you can upload a ready built model of the CC into lego LDD. Do this then delete the top and bottom floor. Upload the remaining middle level into wanted bricks and voila! you can even import the list into bricklink.

Oooh, this is a great idea! Can't wait to price it out. I think Town Hall will challenge some of us to raise the scale of many buildings in our modular towns.

When I get home (and the kids have been put to bed, and the dishes are done, and the... - hmmm, maybe I shouldn't go home...), I'll try to extract the inventory and will share with those interested.

    Hello,

I have the part list for the 2nd floor of the Cafe Corner. Two items are very hard or expensive to find are:

20x 4113022 (bricklink item #2362, white) I am using different part
36x 4267279 (bricklink item #4460, dark red) I bought them from out of the country, $1.5 each + shipping

I will look for the file and upload it soon.

Sorry, I cannot find the XML file for Bricklink but you can use the list to create it. Still looking...

    Hello,

    .
just swap the 2362 out for actual 1x2x3 windows (BL part 60593) - the reason they weren't used is because they weren't available back in 2007.

the 4460 is on the 3rd floor, not the 2nd, but the two alternatives to dark red are to change the color (I went with dark blue), or to swap to the 2x2x3 pieces instead and keep dark red. you lose the vertical offset which creates the nice texturing, but it's fairly minor.

Just created a new XML file to upload in BrickLink. To upload in BrickLink, open the work document and copy all and paste in the BrickLink Wanted List Mass Upload. Please double check the list and make sure all items and parts are correct. If you have any questions, let me know. Part 4113022, white panel 1x2x3 can be substitude with 87544. If you find better replacement, let me know. Ebay have 36x 4267279 right now for $60.

    Good luck and have fun.

I have many custom lego modular building and I am looking for more...

Sorry, 4460 is on the 3rd floor...I got it mixed up with something else.

@htran. Thank you so much! This is very helpful.

I tried to do as @johboy2000 suggested. But I'm not familiar enough with LDD to do it efficiently. So these lists will definitely be helpful.

thanks so much for putting that bricklink XML file together

just a word of warning folks, it doesnt let you choose which wanted list it goes in, so if, like me, your main list is full of random crap you havent sorted into sublists yet then you'd be wise to clear out your main list first, as this is where the import will land.

^ you can add a tag to the XML to tell it what list to go into. Add a new wanted list and on your wanted list page on the right there will be a number associated with it. Just add <WANTEDLISTID>number here</WANTEDLISTID> into each item's XML tag.

Easiest just to mass replace another end tag with the whole line for example replace "</COLOR>" with "</COLOR>WANTEDLISTID>number here </WANTEDLISTID>"

I uploaded @htran 's inventory to bricklink and was able to buy all the needed pieces (expect one) for a bit less than $90 including shipping. I had to use three sellers to do it.

The one piece I did not order was 2362b (20x), which alone costs more than all the other pieces combined. I'm substituting the newer version, which is found in Pet Shop for example, for it.

Or you could just buy actual 2x1x3 windows, which is what the designer wanted to put in the set to begin with, only they were not made back then. now they are cheap and abundant.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've placed an order for 20, which I'll double up to make 10 2x2x3 windows for the additional floor.

^ i did the exact same thing on mine
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
Ive just built one of these, using my loose bricks - had to substitute a colour or two though. Overall the list was great, although there were a few omissions

    - missing 1x6 reddish brown tile which goes on top of corner section
    - 4x12 plate l. grey should be d.grey and should be 2 of them
    - 4x6 and 2x3 l.grey plates should be d.grey
    - i had some 2x2 reddish brown flats left over so might have been too many specced (or I could have counted wrong)

hope that helps anyone else trying to do it!

    ^Thanks for the corrections.
  • htranhtran Member Posts: 38
Sorry about the wrong info. I make the correction to the list.

    1. Tile 1x6 (6636) Reddish Brown, qty 1
    2. Plate 4x12 (3029) Dark Bluish Gray, qty 2
    3. Plate 2x3 (3021) and 4x6 (3032) Dark Bluish Gray, qty 1 each
    4. Plate 2x2 (3022) Reddish Brown, qty 3

Thanks for updating your, very helpful, inventory. Did a quick look up on bricklink and the additional cost of the items is minimal (no more than $2 US).

Mods: Could the database maintain this kind of miscellaneous information?

Final revision of the Cafe Corner 2nd floor. I just finished building it and realized the instruction is missing page 32 which contains the following elements:

    1. Plate 2x4 Reddish Brown (3020), qty 2 (total 9)
    2. Plate 2x6 Reddish Brown (3795), qty 2 (total 4)
    3. Plate 2x8 Reddish Brown (3024), qty 2
    4. Tile 1x1 Reddish Brown (3070b), qty 2 (total 6)
    5. Tile 1x4 Reddish Brown (2431), qty 4 (total 5)
    6. Tile 1x6 Reddish Brown (6636), qty 5
    7. Brick Modified 1x2 Reddish Brown (30136), qty 2 (total 9)
    8. Plate 1x6 Black (3666), qty 1
    9. Plate, Round 1x1 Dark-Bluish Gray, qty 1

The XML file also include the Wanted List ID. First, Add New Wanted List in BrickLink and replace the "204259" with your ID number from BrickLink (use "find and replace" option in Words.) The XML also include the white panel 1x2x3 (2362-retired) and replaced with white windows (60593). Good luck and sorry about the missing parts.

I finished the second floor last night and noticed these omissions too. One correction: I think instead of the 2x6 reddish brown plate (qty 2), it should be the 2x10 reddish brown plate (qty 2). I believe the 2x8 and 2x10 plates are for the for the outward facing walls, just above the reddish brown inverted slopes.

Also, I don't recollect the 1x6 black plate. Where is that supposed to go?
  • luckyrussluckyruss Member Posts: 872
^IIRC, the black 1x6 is in the floor, between some of the larger plates.
  • DaddyWhaleDaddyWhale Member Posts: 130
Thanks, @luckyruss. I remember now looking for a spare black 1x6 plate in my existing inventory.
  • htranhtran Member Posts: 38
Thank you DaddyWhale, the 2x6 reddish brown (3795) should be 2x10 reddish brown (3832), qty 2. The pdf instruction book 2/2 is messed up after page 26, page 45 should be after 26 and 27.

talk about overkill. maybe it was a contest or something, but it looks quite ridiculous actually. completely the wrong architectural style for a building of that period with that height/base ratio.

Yeah I thought it was pretty funny. Reading the Flickr comments, looks like the various LUGs were having a contest for the tallest ever cafe corner, back in 2007, and TLG provided the pieces.

    Personally I prefer this one

Could use one extra floor though.
