@Russell844 That's a lot easier to find the exact number of bags.

This is something that the Brickset database needs to include.

Thanks @77ncaachamps.  I checked out the first few frames 1 frame at a time but couldn't detect the number of bags.  But it was worth a shot.

Hey guys! I bought a "brand new" 10223 Kingdom Joust Lego set but it was open. I am worried one of the packages of lego parts might have fallen out. All the plastic bags appear to be factory sealed. Does anyone know how many bags this comes with?

There are 2 bags labeled #1  (The larger bag has two smaller bags in it)

There is 1 bag labeled #2  with a smaller internal bag.

There is 1 bag labeled # 3 with a smaller internal bag

There is 1 bag labeled #4 with a smaller internal bag

There are 2 bags labeled #5 with the larger one having a smaller internal bag

There are 2 bags labeled #6  with the larger one having a smaller internal bag

There are 2 bags labeled #7 with the large one having a smaller internal bag

There is 1 bag labeled #8 bag with a smaller internal bag.

If anyone could help that would be great. Please respond here or shoot me an email at [email protected] Thank you!!!

The instructions were in a bag with a piece of carboard, might have stickers in there too. Yes as far as bags with pieces you should have a complete set.
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,728
@Trevor86  According to a video on youtube, there are 12 bags total and 1 bag of instructions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42fqdCPTkFs

Decided to post this here since its on the topic of bags,

Is it worth keeping the bags that the Lego come in(the numbered ones inside the box)? I dont know why but I just feel this need to hold on to them just in case it some how increases the value to have them. Not that I plan on selling my sets but I know i wont live forever and my family wont have a reason to keep them.

So, are they worth holding on to or am I just wasting the effort?
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,728
I do the same thing but I don't know why. It won't matter much for the value, it's just me being anal about something I shouldn't even worry about.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I have a couple garbage bags full of the plastic bags from sets if you want some =)

Every so often (but more and more seldom now) I come across an unopened set from the days of the old bags - the ones with all the tiny holes all over them. The tactile experience of picking up one of those bags filled with bricks is an instant portal to childhood. I always have to stop myself hanging onto them!

Because somebody has to enter it manually, and it's not information that's readily available.
    Everything else is there.
    And obtained automatically.

Anyone know of a review or other site like this one that shows you how many bags are in the 10237 Tower of Orthanc?
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,482
Does this look right for 10237? Numbered bags 1-15 with second 3 and 5, and the eagle? 18 total bags?

  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,237
Odd observation with the Tanker Takedown set - bags with the white stripe, and one without.

    @Russell844 this should help:
"The box includes 18 numbered bags that go from 1-15, 3 cardboarded instruction booklets, and a sticker sheet." According to this link.

Yes, but I am asking because of the comment someone left on that page:

"Does anyone know, and can please specify whether or not the 18 bag amount includes the Great Eagle bag???. I am wondering due to the fact that most video sources of unboxing and review of the set, state that there are actually in fact 17 numbered bags, with 2 bag 3's and 2 bag 5's."

I got a Brick Bank with damaged box but intact seals
5 #1's, 5 #2's, 6 #3's, 4 #4's (with some small unmarked bags inside big bags like usual), one bag with one instruction book. The set does not have stickers.

Can anyone recall how 10189 Taj Mahal was packaged? I've seen a couple of videos suggesting that the set box contained three long white cardboard boxes, none of which had lids, and these three boxes accommodated all the bags of elements and baseplates. It seems odd that the inner boxes didn't have lids, but that's what it looks like. Can anyone confirm?
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,728
@drdavewatford  Here is a speed build and you have to look quick at the start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipmbdpTJBI8

    Thanks, folks.

That does seem to confirm my initial "no lids" impression. Strange packaging, mind - wouldn't the baseplates and smaller bags just have migrated out of the cardboard trays and moved around inside the set box as it was carried around? Very odd.

Yep, that's correct.  No lids.  See photo of my set (currently for sale in the UK).  :)

Anyone know the number of bags in #21010 Robie House?  I have an opened set with a bunch of sealed bags.  I just can't remember if I took a bag of parts out for another build or not.  Would like to sell the set as complete but want to make sure it has all the bags first.  I've tried looking up some reviews but can't find any which count or show all the bags distinctly.

Does anyone know how many bags on in #70617, Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon? The instructions show 11 numbered bags, Brother Brick says 12.

I got an opened box at a steep discount. If there are 11 bags, I got it all.

Heads up don't know if it is common for Lego to have multiple errors in a production line but my set #70643 Temple of Resurrection from Ninjago was missing bag 6 and had duplicate bag 4's.  The other number that apparently is of note is that on the sealed tape which in my case was 44R7.  Not sure if that helps or is of use to anyone but figured I would post it.

How many bags does the ewok village set have? I fiind a set that has the seals broken but the bags are untampered for about 160$ and i want to ne sure everything is there.

^From Brickset's review of the set:
Inside one finds seventeen numbered bags, two unnumbered bags containing most of the larger pieces, and a loose dark tan 8 x 16 plate. The three instruction manuals and tiny sticker sheet are backed with cardboard to keep them flat, which is always welcome.

Just picked up a Ninjago  Destiny's Bounty from Argos, it was an Ebay Argos outlet purchase, but as it was available to click and collect immediately at my local branch, it had to be local stock. I picked it up tonight and noticed before taking it away that it had been opened and then taped shut along the security seals on one end of the box. I brought it to the assistant's attention immediately and we opened the box for a look - the box was big, heavy and well stuffed - seems a bargain at RRP next to other sets, but I was very pleased with the £72 price paid. 15 numbered bags in there, plus 2 un-numbered bags with big bits like hull bases, the manual and the set of sails, all seemingly unopened.

Going to build it with one of the bairns as she's had her eye on it a while, insisting that it is a pirate ship.

Does that sound like the right number of bags? If the minifigs are all in the bags then there's little risk of anything being missing I suppose, and i'm assuming that the reseal job was done by Argos for a return (they open and check contents of seemingly unopened sets returned? How do they know how many bags to be looking for without cracking the manual bag open?).

^ Just looked at the online instructions, 15 bags is what there should be, seems to all be there.

Yeah that's bang on. I bought an open box one last week from Ebay and was a bit worried, but 15 numbered bags plus 2 with oversize bits is right. You'll enjoy it. I reckon it's the best ship Lego have produced. I want another one now, there is a cracking 1m long build to be made out of two sets. I'm tempted by the £72 Argos one, but spoilt by paying £55 for the first!

Anyone know how many loose bags are in the 75159 Death Star? I can see from various unboxings on YouTube that there are two inner boxed plus a pile of loose bags, but none of the videos took the time to count the loose bags.

I recently acquired a damaged-box one that appears to be complete, but I'd like to make sure.
