Thanks for the info. Ah, i forgot about the eurobricks website. Well, the box is going back to amazon seeing as there was a single loose piece in the box. Who knows what else is missing.

Any one know how many bags in #10193 MMV? Or the weight of a sealed set?
    Thank you.

According to Brick Link the MMV set weighs 4lbs 4.25oz

As for bags not sure but here is a link to the Eurobrick review which shows an image of all of the bags.

    Thank you @Renny!
Let me count mine. Got two sets from Target a few months ago. Just find out that the seal at one end was opened and re-sealed :(( ... not sure if it's complete.

How many bags should be in a sealed 10181 Eiffel Tower?? I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Can anyone help?

    Just a tip: There's a main thread for how many bags :-) : http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/3821/how-many-bags/p1
No answer there unfortunately; the best I can find is a brief picture at about 2:01 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=ZZuYP8Ibhms
Hopefully someone else can chime in who knows better.

Hi - just wondering if anyone knew the contents of the 4842 Hogwarts - number of bags (10?) and if there are any loose pieces within the box in addition to those bags? There's a boxless item on ebay that I'm considering. Thanks!
  • Brickbob09Brickbob09 Member Posts: 6
    Hi richl,

Eurobricks post many reviews of sets that are linked to the Brickset database, and most of them are very detailed. There are a couple for 4842 showing what's in the box.

Oky's review shows this image which should be of help.

    image

As you can see it has 10 bags, 3 loose parts, 3 instruction booklets and, unfortunately, a sticker sheet. I'm assuming the one you have your eye on is second hand so may already have the stickers applied.

I hope this helps and good luck with the auction if you choose to go with it! :)

Anyone thought it might be a good idea to include bag counts within set details?
Would be most useful for those buying opened box with unused bag sets.

    What you all think?
  • princedravenprincedraven Member Posts: 3,764
^ I believe that the bag count is not consistant within all sets.

Why would lego care? They sell sealed sets. I'd prefer them to concentrate on better seals to help buyers in the primary market, rather than helping buyers using the secondary market.

It would be nice to include the bag count, but it means that they cannot change packing part way through a run if needed - otherwise it would need an instruction manual reprint.

Do you mean on the Brickset set details page? I can see how that would make sense (and could refer to fact if there was more than one configuration for production runs), and would not be too hard for current sets but difficult to back fill the data for.

I don't think Bricklink for example carries this data either.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
If you mean on brickset, then I agree. There is the "database" of numbers in the bag count thread.

Even if there are different versions of the same set, the numbers could be included.
  • cloud0cloud0 Member Posts: 101
Yeah, my reference was for brickset's set details. I had to fumble and search for the bag count on an opened set today.
  • akunthitaakunthita Member Posts: 1,038
    A bag count can also be helpful when you are doubtful if all the bags are there in a new sealed set. It happens sometimes that LEGO messes up includes two of the same bags, omitting one that suppose to be there. I had this question recently when I was assembling a new set and it seemed like I was missing some parts. It would have been helpful to know how many bags supposed to be there. In addition I see this question coming up all the time by others - so I think it would be helpful to the community. Let's see what Huw has to say about that...(c;

^ this should probably changed to "The Database" instead of "collecting" if it was a question about adding it to the set details pages on brickset.
  • JosephJoseph Member Posts: 629
^ Agreed, although "Brickset.com" might work too.

Adding and displaying the additional field is trivial, but collecting and inputting the data, not so, of course.

It would need to be crowd-sourced but at the moment I don't have a mechanism for doing so for core database content. If everyone could be trusted to enter correct information it would be easy, but if it's to be reliable and trusted, some form of checking needs to be put in place, and at the moment I don't have a solution for that. I'm open to suggestions, though...
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,695
    @Huw
You could use the "How many bags" Thread to crowd source the information. If you get say 20 or so people to agree on a count you could call that a good source of information.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,087
I'd still need to enter it myself, though, and I have enough to do already :-)
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
Have a place for people to enter the bag count. Store the entries. Once you get some amount of. people all agreeing (5?) with no other entries, then the system calls that confirmed and will now display that in the set details and stop taking input on bag counts. If you get conflicting entries it gets flagged for review and handled manually via the forum thread

Unfortunately, bag count is only a portion of what we would want to track IMO. Loose pieces, baseplates and bag numbers would be equally important. So we either make it a free form field or we make this data an aggregate of several fields. I'd be ok with either approach.

    Blank Bag
    Bag #1
    Bag#2
    Bag#3
    Bag#4
    Bag#5
    16x32 Baseplate
    32x32 Baseplate
    Loose Parts
    Instructions

Of course, some people would want to know the color of the baseplates or the type of loose parts...

Just curious how many bags come in #9467 (plus the two hoses)? Is it just the six? The bags/instructions are sealed, but the box was opened...
  • emmtwosixemmtwosix Member Posts: 80
    This might help:

    image

I got this new. I always take pictures of the contents of sets I buy new. So yeah, looks like 6 bags, 2 hoses, and instructions.

Does anyone have the number of bags in the Haunted House set?
I got one from Warehouse deals and it was taped shut so Im not sure if bags are missing (have no time to build it right now)

    @madforLEGO

    I just opened mine :-)
    Batch 49R2

5x loose 8x16 dark grey plates
    2x #1 bags
    8x #2 bags

    6x #4 bags
    1x #5 bag

This is the same bag count as given by @dougts on page 2 of this thread. Hope this helps. :-)

@EKSam: Thanks for that, I guess I missed what @dougts listed (sorry)
It appears all of the bags were there (box is near trashed though)
  • piratemania7piratemania7 Member Posts: 2,146
I just counted the bags too for HH and that's right! Sorry for the delay. Of course minus two bags that I didn't get...but that's being taken care of thanks amazon.
  • EKSamEKSam Member Posts: 349
    @madforLEGO

You are welcome and no apologies needed:-) I actually searched high and low for the bag count before I came across @dougts's post :-) Even eurobricks had the bag count pic all jumbled:-).

Thanks @dougts, the HH bag count was very helpful.:-)

    @piratemania7
It was your missing bags post that spurred me into opening my HH, thanks.:-)
  • piratemania7piratemania7 Member Posts: 2,146
I took a break from the HH until I get the new set maybe tomorrow or Tuesday? I might just brick link what I am missing and keep the MISB around like someone said earlier in a forum post. Of course I could combine the two and create a really cool modular HH....
  • piratemania7piratemania7 Member Posts: 2,146
I was able to confirm I am missing 1 bag # 2 and 1 bag # 4 from the original set Amazon sent me. They sent me a new HH so I think I am going to bricklink the missing pieces and keep the new set MISB...

Hi, could I get a bag count on set 2521 Lightning Dragon Attack? Just bought a set with just the sealed bags.
  • paul_mertonpaul_merton Member Posts: 2,967
How many bags should there be in #9473 The Mines of Moria? Just got one sent from Argos, but it's clearly been opened before and resealed with selotape. Don't really want to start building it and then find there's something crucial missing!

Does anyone know how many bags are in the UCS batmobile 7784? Thanks,

  • vitreolumvitreolum Member Posts: 1,406
@paul_merton It should have 4 bags + the cave troll if I recall correctly.
  • murphquakemurphquake Member Posts: 651
@paul_merton you should call and complain either way... what are you going to do sit and count out 776 parts to see if you got everything.
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 819
Ill admit I've not searched through this discussion too much but I just bought a Goblin King set from Walmart for 40% off and forgot to check the LEGO seals. When I got home I noticed there was scotch tape over the ends on one side. I opened the booklet, checked for the highest bag number and then counted the numbered bags and it matched up. I also counted the minifigs and the set had all of them as well so I kept the set and parted it out into my collection. LoTR has been marked down around here so I bought several copies of the sets to part out into my collection as I've no interest in this line of sets but the browns and tree elements, dark blays, and mushrooms are great at 40-50% off!

I'll,have to remember to check this thread the next time I get an opened set.

Any one know how many bags are suppose to be in #8129 AT-AT?

I won one on eBay that was new sealed bags (No Box) and wanted to see if I have all the bags.

    Lego 8129 AT-AT Bags

From what I received it has 10 bags? Looks right to me.

If no one knows I guess I'll find out when I get around to building it. :)

I bought this set (Ghost Train) for £37.99 from Argos outlet on ebay and it arrived this morning but the sticky tape seals had obviously been removed and stuck back down. With this in mind I'm wondering if everything that should be in the box is? I have 6 numbered bags, instructions (in a bag with cardboard) and two loose flexible rib hoses. Am I missing anything?

I suspect this was a returned item that the staff have checked to make sure someone hasn't taken stuff out when returning.

    Any help much appreciated.
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
Can't remember the exact contents but 6 bags sounds about right. Im guessing if anything was going to be missing it would be the ghosts and other minifigs. Check they're there first.
