^ I'll believe it when I see it! Are you displaying the built model in stores so we can all be proved wrong?
  • t123m1t123m1 Banned Posts: 13
No word on that just yet, but from previous experience with Minecraft, I would say no. But the box is pretty special!

Ah, excellent! Thanks for the heads-up; I'll give my local store a call today.

Please note that not all stores have them in yet and they will certainly NOT sell them to you. Even if a store does have them in we are advised not to say anything.

Thanks, however we have already seen these pictures. I would like Lego to officially unveil the set before the release date: 18th July 2013.

@t123m1 how many pieces does it have, and does it definitely have the two minifigs?
  • t123m1t123m1 Banned Posts: 13
I cant confirm the piece amount, but I can confirm the 2 minifigs, yes.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
^ Just curious, why can't you confirm the piece amount? Surely it's printed on the box?

@t123m1, Does the box have images of the alternate models and is there a big difference between the different models?? Does it have any other features??

Depends which country his Brand Store is in. European boxes don't need the piece counts printed on their boxes.

Apologies, missed his 2-letter long post. My error.

I cant confirm the piece count because that is against LEGO regulations, all I can say is that it does have 2 minifigures.

Just seems so bizarre - you can't confirm piece count but you can confirm 2 mini figs are included lol? Oh well, I'm still kinda curious why lego hasn't officially announced it yet.

Because I think they're still treating Cuusoo as somewhat of an experiment. Although Minecraft was successful I think they're probably still playing it cautiously. I imagine they'll want quite a few successful releases before they start shouting from the rooftops about it.

Any news on a timeframe for the Mars rover yet?

I'm really excited for this set, being a BTTF fan. I wonder how fast they'll sell out.

We've seen the pics of what we believe to be are the the final versions of the set, box and minifigures. So, why exactly do you think wea'll in for a treat?

@t123m1 can you tell if the "alternate versions" have the same hood, or is it the same blocky ugliness?
  • trickydicky0880trickydicky0880 Member Posts: 134
    Thanks @canuck

My guess is that's the official box art because the delorean looks official with the flux capicitor. I don't know why most people are hating on the hood. The car looks fantastic.

Ive got an idea, they should release that cusoo western village as part of the back to the future theme :)

    That would be cool!

Add the Clock Tower as well, however Lego Cuusoo is for one set only not to have a whole theme unless it becomes so popular like lego Minecraft Micro World!!

People are hating on the hood for two reasons:

    1) Car hoods are not "stepped" in real life
    2) The original model had a decent representation of a sloped hood (see 1)

I'm sure this was done to allow for the other car versions, including the one with all the transistors and such on the hood. Whatever the reason, the stepped hood looks bad.

From those HD images from @Grogal at EB - it certainly looks like the doors open up.

Lets hope it has no stickers, but I'm sure it won't because Lego Minecraft Micro World didn't?!

The sloped hood looked equally bad because the degree of incline was far too great. The hood of a DeLorean is closer to flat than it is to the angle of the slope that was used. As I said before, both versions suck.

Oh no, I hope I am wrong, but I think Ive noticed a spelling error on the flux capacitor piece/sticker, It should read: "Shield eyes from light". Upon closer inspection I think that the lego version has spelt 'shield' incorrectly, unless its my bad eye sight LOL, the way they seem to have spelt it seems to either be 'shild or sheild' from the angle I can see it at, (this will definitely not stop me from buying this set though). This set IMO looks absolutely brilliant. :-D

    Good eye @kez

I'm sure it'll be spelled correctly for final products. At least, it better be.

Correct, it doesn't have stickers. Certainly everything in the car ie. dash/flux capacitor etc are printed.

^ Actually it looks like LEGO forgot the "e" because shield is spelled with "i" before "e" and there's no visible "e".

"ILD" is clearly visible, and the letter preceding it is not an "H", because the right vertical would be visible. The visible part of the preceding letter looks pretty much identical to the lower part of the "E" used in "EYES".

Hopefully this is just a result of the wrong texture file being used in the render.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,710
^Yes I checked and Shield is spelled: Sheild

    Have a look yourself...
  • DiggydoesDiggydoes Member Posts: 1,079
Isn't the picture a rendered/computer generated model? So hopefully the spelling error won't be in the "real"model?!
