Architecture - Box redesign

Haven't been active here in a long while...  today I received 21057 Singapore directly from LEGO.com.  I was disappointed in the box no longer being the fancy style attached lid opening.  As you can see the boxes look nice when put away, waiting for their turn for display.  They are fairly compact and efficient. The packing slip also attached itself to the box and will tear off the design if removed.  I normally don't keep LEGO boxes, just for Architecture so, I'm bummed out.  I suppose I could return the set to the store or by mail, but that is a hassle and doesn't resolve the crappy box with the finger holes.  They don't stay closed properly, either with the finger spaces punched out or cut behind.

When did LEGO make this change to Architecture?  I guess it could be the push I need to quit buying them. LOL.

It's sometimes fun/useful/illuminating to imagine summing things up in a headine:

'Man stops buying something because the packaging changed'.

They do if you don't open them!

I find a craft knife behind the tab end cuts them cleanly, and you can stick a slither of double sided tape inside to keep it closed. But only worth the effort for ones you want to display.

^This is how I've handled my BHz boxes before the box redesign (in this case, they used to be the punch out boxes and have transitioned into the sealed-with-tape boxes.

Man stops spending thousands on plastic because cardboard altered.
