I too was surprised to see both the blanket back and the train polybag as a GWP. I increased my order a little to get the blanket.

@PapaBear recommend going to fabric store like Joann’s get fleece on sale for hedgehogs, other pets or kids.  It’s not woven so no unraveling just cut to size, use, wash and reuse and inexpensive enough to throw out if too dirty or worn and cut a new piece.
that's actually where I got most of my fleece from!  The designs have little hedgehogs on them and I can swap them out when they get too dirty and need to be washed.  He would hide in them too.

I was at about $175 when I was done with my part order. When I found out I could get the blanket again with another $25 I added a few more animals and other parts to the order.

It looks like the Buildable 2x4 Red brick is back as a VIP Reward.

I missed the blue one, but grabbed a red one.  I already have one of each, thanks to trades and such, but I couldn't resist another classic red.

Darn the teal one is gone, was trying to decide if I'd be able to put in an order for it before cashing in the points since I still need to put in an order for the Pirate Ship Ride.  Oh well.
  • Is the red brick only available on the US site?
I can’t seem to find it on the UK site.

I have an extra teal - if you are interested let me know!

UPS lost the package from LEGO that contained the bonus items from Black Friday. I contacted LEGO and their response was just "we fulfilled our end!" I am pretty mad about that
  • Lo1sJessLo1sJess Member Posts: 633
@leetshoe if package isn’t found, I’d certainly move up the management chain at Lego CS.  Sometimes just getting to the next level with them gets some movement.  Good Luck

Yeah, I replied to them saying I am not happy. The bonus items would be cheaper to send out than them having to buy postage for me returning the Eiffel Tower

Thanks for the offer Sumo.  It isn't something I "need" to have so save it for someone who really wants it.

Does anyone know of any plans to make the remaining two of the Bricktober 2022 sets available as VIP rewards? Fantasy Adventure Ride or Space Adventure Ride? Thank you!

Just saw this Banner on the US Lego website:

"The VIP Rewards Center will be under maintenance soon. From 01/30/2023; 1:00 PM to 01/30/2023; 5:00 PM, you won't be able to access the VIP Rewards Center. You'll still be able to earn points though."

Wonder what they are going to update break this time?

It didn't specify but I suspect it would be EST since that's the time zone they use to launch new product.

New survey up on the US website "Do You Love Building"  worth 50 VIP points.  Says it should take 10-15 minutes.  I'll be doing it later.

Redeemed points for the Architecture World of Wonders set. Not sure I want to use 2100 points on that birthday vignette set though.

You can only redeem one VIP Item code per order.  You can redeem more than one VIP discount code per order.  IE, you can take as much off the cost of the order with VIP codes as you want, but you can only get one VIP item each time.

Was just looking at the VIP Deals and Promo Codes page and saw that they had listed that there will be Double Points available 2/10 through 2/16.  (In the US at least, since this is the US page.  Not sure about anywhere else :) )

At the risk of being lazy (and I am being lazy right now), would someone kindly remind me what happens if I forget to use/lose the opportunity to redeem a VIP code (for say, a polybag or some other set from the VIP redemption center)?  Are the points automatically refunded or would I need to call [email protected]?  Thanks!

In the past you have had to contact [email protected], and I haven't heard of anything that would change that, so I would assume that's still the case :)

I just saw on the website that the VIP gift for Rivendell is... #40630 Frodo & Gollum Brickheadz...
    LAME!

    That's...unfortunate.

What a missed opportunity to toss in a unique polybag or small little build to go along with the set.

So this seems like the very idea that has been discussed, argued and ranted about on various threads. Making GWP sets also available for purchase from Lego or even general retail. I think a few GWP may have shown up under VIP rewards for points but is this the first time for a regular retail set to then be offered as a GWP? Would this be a trail balloon for Lego to see if this approach helps or hurts sales?
  • sipusssipuss Member Posts: 232
    I got #31093 as a GWP in december 2021.

I think I'm ok with this. While I will be getting Rivendell eventually I have too many other older big sets to get first. It's nice to know someone can still get the BrickHeadz, and save Rivendell for a better offer later.

There was a period where Ninjago #70749 was a free GWP of #70751.  I don't think this was planned though.  They were probably trying to just unload one or the other set (or both).
  • autolycusautolycus Member Posts: 1,426
There have definitely been other examples of a GWP that was a set already available for sale. I can think of a few poly bags anyway. It's unusual, but it has happened. I would love to get an exclusive LOTR GWP, but I'm with gmonkey76 here. I have plenty of other sets to build now, so I'm a little relieved I don't have to buy Rivendell right away!

I will say... this does have me questioning my choice to buy Rivendell on day-one. My fear is that it'll be out of stock for a significant period after release, and then I won't be able to get it at the time where there is some good promotion to get with it.

I would be very surprised if it's still out of stock by the time the November VIP weekend and Black Friday roll around. Those are usually great times to buy a big set because you can often get double VIP and at least 1 really good GWP.

Although demand for the set may be high......
The High Price of the set will "delay" a lot of those purchases, so I hope it is available for at least a year.....?
If TLG send it EoL within 6 months I will just have to miss it.

A Brikheadz GWP will not entice me to buy it early.... a 400 piece Fords of Bruinen, with  Black Rider minifigs and horses certainly would.

I'll bet it will last until end of 2025 and maybe longer if sales are still strong and if they don't start a line of humongous LOTR sets. If there's a line of them, they'll hang around for 2 1/2-3 years each, if I had to guess.

So did anyone see and manage to get the Easter Chicks VIP reward set before it sold out?  The rewards page is showing it was 1500 VIP points.  It was not there yesterday.
So I checked my owned sets & it appears I already have it since it was a GWP last year #40527.
