Ah, so you are the one that clicked "yes" to wanting a gigantic disporportioned Hulkbuster in the previous survey!
I would have said yes to everything else too! In corporate BS surveys like this I tend to pick a column and give the same answer to all options.

Actually for the Hulkbuster, they assumed silence means consent.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers are now listed on the LEGO website.  The two GWP's we just had.  In store only Santa Polybag #30580 all weekend with $40 purchase.  Online only Cyber Monday a drawstring Brickbag with $200 purchase #5007488.  VIP point offers are the Pirate Ship Ride for 2400 points, 75% off discount on a $5 discount voucher, new rewards,  points sale on popular rewards, Eiffel Tower postcard & sticker set for 600 points, 1964 Retro Keychain for 950 points.  They also say select sets will be on sale for the weekend only.  And the Eiffel Tower & Apartment GWP available while supplies last.  They also say there will be a new GWP on Cyber Monday.

How much do you actually have to spend in order to trade in a code for a VIP reward?
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 899
$35 if you want free shipping.  Not sure how it works if you make a PAB order with best seller parts as I haven't tried that.

^Thank you! And does anyone know what happens if you trade in some VIP points for whatever reward and then can't use the code? Do you get the points back or are they lost?
  • BrickByBrickBrickByBrick Member Posts: 743
I don't think you get the points back automatically but I'm sure if you talk to CS they'll refund them

Short answer is that you will loose the points. However, I would contact customer service and explain the situation in full to them, they can often times help you out with restoring the points to your account.

Can someone let me know if you are allowed to use multiple discount codes (from VIP points) on a single order? And can they be combined with the promo code to get the pirate thing? Just want to know before I use my points.

No, you are only able to use one code per transaction, much to the annoyance of all of us everywhere!

Really, that must've changed? I used multiple discount code vouchers and a code for a VIP promotion on my last order a week ago.

I thought the only limitation was one VIP promotion per order.

I've also used multiple discount vouchers in the past.  The only limitation is that your order total must meet or exceed the value of the vouchers you want to use.  So, if you had two $20 vouchers and you're only purchasing a $39.99 set, you'll only be able to apply one of those $20 vouchers and will have to pay for the remaining amount plus tax.

Yes, multiple discount codes can be used but only one promo code can be used. A single order can have both types of codes. I think some of the confusion recently is the codes for the $ off specific sets were promo codes and not discount codes so you couldn’t use one of those and get the dragon ride promo in the same order.

^^^ consider me corrected! I've tried to use multiple codes before and was unable, I am really glad to hear that I am wrong on this matter! Thanks all!

@pxchris I think I saw you comment on passing on the pirate ride and waiting for the spaceman one.

I got the dragon ride and only currently have enough points for one more ~2400 point item.  Plus I am not sure I’ll spend enough over next month to build enough point - should have planned points usage better!  Is the spaceship ride coming and what was the fourth from the bricktober series?

I would presume you can only use that discount once.  Because using a discount many times would only result in you buying more product.

    And we can't have that.

It's supposed to be 4 times per account, except it's been "sold out" for me (and not just me) without ever getting one. It seems LEGO came up with some arbitrary quantity for available discounts.

You can buy four of those $5 vouchers at 75% off (if you have enough VIP points). I did that Thursday, so it now shows as "sold out". I don't know if they set an overall limit- so some people don't even have a chance?
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,390
Shows sold out for me and I never got any.

    PapaBearjmeninno
  • autolycusautolycus Member Posts: 1,426
They’ve done that before with the discount code. They clearly have a certain total number they’re willing to sell. They just don’t say it very clearly. There’s probably a T&C page somewhere that mentions “while supplies last” in tiny print.

Lego Group is too cheap to give all of its VIP members who want the discount access and are too chicken to actually post that there are limited number available.

100% correct!  Which is bizarre - it's not like even 'overselling' the discount is going to eliminate LEGO's margin on the product being discounted.  Are they seriously worried about a Dark Web syndicate of LEGO VIP discount code trading?  It's a weird implementation of a restriction of a promotional code.

They could do one per account, knowing full well 90% of their VIP accounts aren't suddenly going to mobilize and bankrupt the company.  Because making 45% markup instead of 56% markup isn't something that should cause bankruptcy.

I've sent an email as well. Worst case, they know there is frustration among their VIP base. Best case, they find a way to allow me to still purchase the vouchers.

The second outcome seems HIGHLY unlikely. But, still important to let them know I think.

Ok but think about it this way: it's only fair that both digital and physical rewards are distributed with the same level of incompetence.

So, got my response back rather quickly. They did confirm a limited amount were available (no insight into the number...not that the details are owed to me). But did mention they expect to have a similar offer available in the "near future." So...I will continue to wait and watch for them to pop up.

On a somewhat related note, any news as to the release dates for some of the new Disney Brickheadz? Wondering if I'm lucky enough to get in on the second round, if they would last long enough to apply toward some Brickheadz.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
I also got a reply, saying they were limited and that I should look out for more VIP deals in future. Then a long cut and paste about what the VIP scheme is.

Of course the Discount £5 voucher is actually a promo code.
So you can only use one discount per order anyway... TLG need to change that promo limit.

It is good for their short term orders.
But bad long term, because the VIP's get pissed off with having to make multiple orders to use their promo codes....
  • FizyxFizyx Member Posts: 1,332
Afaik, you can use as many voucher codes as you want, as long as you are using the whole amount of the voucher.  They are treated differently than the VIP codes for items.

I used four of the "%75 off" $5 vouchers on my order of three #40558. They have shipped but not been delivered yet. So you can use more than one per order.

The inability to accept multiple promo codes isn't just bad PR, it's also wasteful. I ended up placing multiple orders over the Black Friday weekend just so I could use the various discount, Reward and VIP promo codes that I'd purchased with VIP points. As a result LEGO had to stump up for free shipping on a number of separate consignments and sent me multiple GWPs. The extra GWPs will be great for trades so I'm not complaining, but as a result of all this LEGO have unnecessarily incurred a bunch of extra costs.

Thankfully, their competence in shipping sets to retailers far outpaces their gross incompetence in shipping directly to consumers.

Thank you, LaserShip for leaving my package next to the garbage cans on the other side of my house.

Yeah, another thing I think LEGO should do is let one redeem points for items and get them without having to order more product just to get them.

Me: why on earth would I want a Lego fleece blanket?

Also me: well, I might as well add a few things to the order to get my free Lego fleece blanket

So I have to say, I thought the same thing the first time I saw they had a fleece blanket GWP a few years ago, and I also got one just for the heck of it.  I showed it to my mother when I got it just to be like 'haha, look at this weird thing that LEGO was giving away' and she felt it, was like 'oooo, this is soft!' and stole it from me.  I've never gotten it back, since it's become her absolute favorite blanket.  She uses it every single day as she watches TV, and has threatened people with death if they are using it when she wants it... This time around, I made sure to get another blanket, and she actually made sure to order enough (through me) that SHE got a backup blanket as well.  So my conclusion is, why would you want a LEGO fleece blanket?  Cause they make a mean fleece blanket even without any of their branding on it!

Totally agree with Fifyx’s mom.    I only got one blanket a few years ago also.  Big mistake. This year (if I can) I will be getting multiple blankets so everyone has their own and a backup just incase.

Fleece blankets are super soft.  I got some for my hedgehog because they love fleece while some other bedding is harmful to them.
  • Lo1sJessLo1sJess Member Posts: 633
@PapaBear recommend going to fabric store like Joann’s get fleece on sale for hedgehogs, other pets or kids.  It’s not woven so no unraveling just cut to size, use, wash and reuse and inexpensive enough to throw out if too dirty or worn and cut a new piece.
