what are ways you sort and store lego

what are some of the ways you sort and store your lego collection for me it is by brick type.

I sort bricks by colors. Plates by colors and tiles by colors. I don't really sort each type of plate/brick or tile. Then other pieces I sort and store via the brick type for the most part. I am working on sorting minifig related items, but first I have about 20 lbs of Lego to sort through.
