Mysterious FABULAND Trees....

IstokgIstokg Member Posts: 2,363
I would have posted this in the parts identification... but this is more for the Fabuland experts (Kenny... that be you!)...

I came across this image of a Fabuland tree many years ago, and have never been able to identify it, nor what set it may have come from (unless it was a prototype)...

Fabuland parts are pretty well identified via Bricklink, and there are only 2 Fabuland trees (with 7 holes) in all of Fabuland listed in Bricklink...

Then today a UK LEGO fan posted these 2 images of the same unusually shaped tree on Facebook...

This one is identical to the mystery Fabuland image I found about 10 years ago, but it has a sticker on it, which I thought was very unusual for Fabuland??

And this is the same unusual shaped tree, except it has holes in it, as most Fabuland trees have...

I'm wondering if these might have been UK specific (Wrexham Wales LEGO factory) Fabuland parts, or possibly they are all prototypes??  The UK owner of these last 2 trees says that she doesn't live near Wales... she lives in Lancastershire, which upon checking is still only 50 miles from Wrexham Wales.

So do any of the Fabuland folks (or UK folks) have any idea about where these trees may have originated?

Thanks! ~ Gary

I had two of these tree as well and I got them in a bundle of Fabuland from the thrift shop in Billund that’s now closed. I sent you images for them at the time Gary.

I always thought the one with no holes was a prototype. I've never seen the one with the bigger holes before. Interesting !!
