Anyone Modified the Gryffindor Dorm?

Several people have commented on how the addition of the chocolate frog cards display messes up both the outside and inside and I agree but am only just trying to move away from building sets to creating.  Anyone already modded?

My goal is to do just that next week. I've been thinking about the best way to do it, but I feel like I'm going to have to build it to see. The easiest thing to do would be to just replace the rail with a tan 1x8 plate, but I'd like to still keep the use of the chocolate frog wall. I'm hoping 8 modified plates with 1 x 2 with a horizontal clip on the end would work, with a 1x8 tan tile and a gold staff piece attached to the clip to make it look nice:
