I am looking to purchase set 918 Space Transport, new in box.

I have been watching BrickLink and eBay, other usual suspects, for quite some time, no luck.

Any collectors ready to part with the set?

Not surprising - I doubt that there are many new in box copies of 918 in circulation.

...And fewer people who have one willing to sell, I'd guess. If I was lucky enough to own one, I certainly wouldn't, I'm afraid.

Understood.  I agree, I am sure there are very few new or sealed sets remaining, much less, any that are for sale.

I missed an opportunity to bid / purchase a used set on eBay, it was in great shape.

I am just checking, like most, I hope, would like to own this great set.
