What are your favourite play functions?

When reorganising some of my childhood LEGO sets this week, I encountered two Castle models which include exceptional play features.

7036 Dwarves' Mine combines several methods of moving gold and silver ore, while 7037 Tower Raid includes an effective mechanism to release imprisoned minifigures.

These are among my favourite play features from any sets, which prompted me to consider: what are your favourite play functions in LEGO sets? Let us know in the comments.

What TLG thinks kids (and big kids) want:
*Flick fire missiles and stud shooters*
    What the audience actually wants:
*Trapdoors, cannons, hidden features, transformations, mini vehicles*

Would rather stud shooters to any app based features. Have to say that the stuntz theme is the first time Ive been excited by a play feature in a long time. Interested to see if the theme develops or if the friction motor is 'one and done'.

I find stud shooters quite fun if you have a kid, but the 1x4 bricks that shoot bars are even better especially if you stack about 50 of them and run your hand down to shoot the lot in one go.

Chima Speedorz were really good fun too.

I think the best play function is wheels. Just wheels. Lego became more than a building toy with them!
