Also, when was Thrawn in ST4?
But I am not really fussed if Lego change the name on the box... for me, it is more just a symptom of a world that seems too worried about not offending anyone, and pandering to the fear of being perceived as offensive.
I must confess I just don't understand the rules of this game anymore. For example, I recall not too long ago there was outrage and horror because a white person played a black historical character in a film (no facepaint involved by the way)... ok I kinda get it.
Then a few months later the BBC here in the UK have a black lady playing a white historical character (again no face-paint involved). This was hailed as progressive!
But it all just leaves me confused as to what the rules now are - almost to the point that I worry about having a strong opinion about anything (outside of forums) as god knows who will be upset.
My normal modus operandi is to wait and see what people say from all sides of the argument, and compare to my own view and see if what they are saying modifies what I would have said otherwise. If it doesn't change my POV I go ahead and say it. If it does, then maybe I need to think a bit more.
The real trick is to recognise when I'm wrong and say so. That isn't easy.
Conveniently, however, I am on a forum where there's plenty going on I can talk about without having to brave opposing political viewpoints, as no politics are involved. So I go do that.
Stop trying to make Fetch happen :D :D
oh dammit, I was so excited when I thought I had a cool joke to deploy :D
I must admit to forgetting about the dolls vs figs thing - my brain is trying to protect me.
