Legoland Discovery Center Store Milpitas Store Prices

dehnehsudehnehsu Member Posts: 206
I just saw a video on YouTube about the new Legoland Discovery Center at the Great Mall in Milpitas, Calif. Looks like the Center dumps you out into a LEGO Shop at the end which is available without paying for the experience itself. A review mentioned the Store has higher prices on LEGO than you find at (Regular) LEGO Stores and online. Just a heads up for any Bay Area LEGO fans who might make a trip to Milpitas to check it out. I'm disappointed about the inflated prices.

When I went I didn't think the prices were that much higher. A lot of sets were rounded up, so a $49.99 set was $50. I didn't look at every set available. They did have a lot of exclusives on the shelf. It cost $10 for a small PAB cup. All their polybags were priced at $6, and they had several I had not seen anywhere else yet. Keychain prices matched the $5.99 of [email protected] When I was there only two of the park exclusives were in stock, the big park set and the small castle set.

Thanks for the info Russell844. The review made it sound worse.

The LDC in Grapevine is either slightly above or priced right in line with the Lego stores in the DFW area.  The main difference is the lack of VIP points for purchases.

It's far enough I don't go often but close enough for the occasional trip.  I like to go because they have a great selection to look at.  Rarely buy anything because, well, if I'm paying RRP or slightly higher, why not buy at Lego and get VIP?  And I'm a best deal I can get shopper mostly anyway.  Occasionally I try to get the poly bag, park exclusive or other hard to find set at the LDC.

It's the best place for polybags, IMHO, in the DFW area.
