#60306 Shopping Street has blue bike lanes. They aren't as wide as the Ideas submission, but they're there.

Yes, a cycle lane that is 2 studs wide, and they give you a trike that is over 3 studs wide.

I know this technically doesn’t match the thread title from the previous review, but in important related news we are going to know the results from the third 2020 IDEAS review tomorrow afternoon (22/06/21).

This review is the one that has Wallace & Gromit in it! Brits are very excited for this and it seems Americans are very excited for Gravity Falls (which I hadn’t heard of until the Lego Idea was mooted).

There’s also the Red Dwarf and Avatar projects which I quite like. Avatar seems quite possible considering the upcoming sequels and video game, plus ownership by Disney.

Of those 34, by far the majority are pseudo-modular buildings or medieval style builds. They mostly look fantastic but they’re just to ogle over knowing they won’t be chosen. There’s a couple of IPs I don’t recognise but sitcoms aren’t such an overbearing feature of the review which is a pleasant change!

Some more unusual ones I’d pick out are:
    - The working Mini Golf course(!) Would make a great follow up to the Labyrinth Maze
    - JAWS (Orca & Bruce) TLG already messed about with us by mentioning the IP
    - Airport Firetruck. Might be too big but a great more technical build
    - Boston Dynamics Robot (although would only be attractive if it had motors etc in the final retail build which I’m not sure on)

The ‘why are they even there’ list for me would include:
    - GameStop store (boring build anyway)
    - Women of Computing (nice enough build but a blatant copying of the ‘Women of Nasa’ formula)
    - BTS Dynamite (just super fan votes)
    - Basement & Sewerage (slightly bizarre to assume that would have market appeal)

There might be some backstories I’m missing regarding popularity here but that’s just my take for now anyway.

The ones I would like and think might have legs are the Solar System Explorers, the Copenhagen one, and maybe the mini golf.

It's quite baffling that Bricky_Brick has 2 in this review, and has had a total of 12 sets reach 10k followers, mostly modulars.  He could have made a whole parallel line of modulars on his own.  And he's not the only one doing so.  It goes to show there's huge demand for this line, they could think of going with 2 per year.

    So, not baffling then. :)

Not baffling?  Is there any other creator who has this amount of sets reaching the 10k club?  And seeing how LEGO doesn't support this type of submission (bar is Pirates of Barracuda Bay submission), I'd say baffling is the proper word!

I guess we use the term baffling differently :)

The good news these days is that all the really great sets that don't get picked, in particular the large buildings, might just might live again via the Bricklink program.

    Hope lives on.
