Lowering Technic Suspension

Have been looking through the forum but not found anything specific as yet but trying to find out any clever ways on how to lower the suspension on Technic, specifically on 42125 488 as it does not look good on the side profile on the "default" bid, especially when sat next to the 42115 Sian. It uses part 76537 (yellow shock absorber suspension) but not sure if any way to adjust the spring tension on these to minimise the "play" it has. 

It's probably the biggest let down on the 488 as it sits far too high at the front and the gap between the wheels and the arches is more akin to our Volkswagen Touran....
