Sets with license plates list

scottdd2scottdd2 Member Posts: 156
Just wondering if there is a list that has all the city sets that have sticker licenses included, I'm trying to get as many variations as possible so I have no double ups in the city however I need a way to track them.

Most City sets with vehicles have plates matching the set number. I don't know of a list though.

You've probably already tried searching for "license" on Bricklink. The parts tab gives a description for the stickered items that includes the set number it's in. There are 285 results so it's a lot of work to go through them to pick out just the City sets but it might be a start.

Yeah but I'm not sure when they started adding them to sets so I like the Bricklink search.

Look at all 1x2 decorated tiles in Bricklink. (If you click on “Decorated tiles”, they start on page 5). Most do not say License...so if you search by that you’ll miss most. You however can browse through those 1x2 tiles and pick out all the license plates pretty easily...it looks like about half of them were used for that purpose.

There may be a few 1x4 tiles with license plate numbers as well.

Fun fact: as nearly all of the license plate stickers use the designer's initials and the set number as the license plate number, it should be fairly easy to determine which set contains those stickers...

Fun fact: in 2007, some Exo-Force sets came with a 1x2 printed tile that was randomly generated, the idea being that you would enter the code online for digital extras.
It makes a decent license plate, and you shouldn't find many duplicates.

After further research, it sounds like there are 34 unique Exo-Force codes. Do what you wish with that information.
