Sorry about that, I was looking at Shuttle Adventure. Those two always confuse me. I have yet to get 10231, it looks like a good set, and I would be very disappointed if I miss it.
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
10231 has come in and out of stock at Amazon over the past few weeks...

I agree this will be a nice one when it goes, but I doubt it is going this year, too early to be buying it... In my opinion. :)

    ^^ They're basically identical.

I found a TRU today (on my 2nd WM hunt of this weekend) that was pretty amazing in terms of what they had in stock. I've never seen such a large LEGO stock in any of the 3 major chains. They pretty much had every HP, Atlantis, PoP, Pharoh, and Cars stuff still in stock as well as the typical City, Friends, SW stuff. They had at least 10-12 different Technics sets including 2 ME's which I picked up one to go with my cargo train for the BOGO. They had some things that recently I havent seen in stores either like Slave 1, Battle on Endor, Woody's Roundup, MRV and a few others. Wish SW was included in the sale. Would've picked up the 4 Endor's they had.

^ that is impressive for a TRU. I have 2 local TRU's. One stocks more than the other. But, not even the larger one has ever had that much variety.

Have no plans on buying anything at TRU this week but I am glad I clicked on this discussion. Great conversation about production numbers. I wish we did on wow how many FBs were produced since the set debuted.

I started to place an order this past weekend but needed 2-day shipping so that it would arrive before my vacation starts.

I logged in with ShopRunner for free 2-day shipping, and found that the only LEGO items that were ShopRunner eligible were select Star Wars sets that were not included in the BOGO.

    Lame... lame... lame.

After my experience at the one TRU by me where both passenger trains I bought were filled with Turbotank parts I no longer buy large sets at TRU stores.
I figure the smaller ones will be safe because the thieves cannot make much money on the smaller sets, but I will not buy any bigger sets at TRU's any longer.

Hit the local TRU and walked out empty handed. I was hoping to the Robber's Hideout and/or the Funhouse, but neither were in stock.
  • lulwutlulwut Member Posts: 417
Saw a bunch of Dynamic Duo Fun Houses but couldn't find anything else to pair it up with. Left with a few Ninjago Lightning Dragon sets though.
  • jadeirenejadeirene Member Posts: 474
^ Wow, your TRU must be well stocked. I would be very happy if I could find either of those sets in the stores around me.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Damn, they got me! The shipping was "up to $20 value". Guess I have to read the fine print . . .
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
Darn, I would have liked to get the tower bridge or the modulars in a bogo. Hopefully I don't miss out on the next one they have. No sense in going to the actual stores, I hate TRU.
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
But trust me most sets sold are 6858, star wars battle packs, friends anything thats under 25 bucks, and of course the big sellers anything under 50 bucks thats ninjango.
I find the above fascinating. I know the Lego press release stated that Ninjago was a huge success, but I really had no idea. My kids had absolutely zero interest in Ninjago until they brought out the snakes. :-) For my son especially, interest in Ninjago went from completely ignoring, to wanting a number of sets. Interestingly, my 9 year old daughter now always reminds me that they need to watch the latest Ninjago episode. All three of my kids were HIGHLY excited about the reveal of Samurai X in the latest episode.

Nothing says you can't break your order into smaller orders.

The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape was in stock this morning online, so I ordered one with some other things and now its out of stock online. Now I'm fearing the one I ordered may be cancelled...
  • vader34mtvader34mt Member Posts: 88
@typo....yea no kidding...I ordered the FB and GE minutes after the sale started...and until it says "shipped" i will continue to be paranoid that they're going to cancel my order
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
The unimog is "in stock" again. Does anyone know how often TRU restocks items during a sale? I've heard that they do restock items sometimes.

My local Fry's foods (Kroger or Ralph's to others) is having a buy2 get 1 free sale on Lego.

Get 3 items of approx equal prices, and that's a very good deal!
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
It beats TRU's buy 1 get 1 50% off on some items!
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,492
    That's for sure!
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
It beats it by 8% per item. Not a bad deal

@ vader34mt I received shipment confirmation on my modulars this afternoon! :-) I ordered about 40 minutes into the sale.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I ordered < 10 minutes into the sale. Just got my shipping confirmation for my FB, GE, and 2 trains. Funny cause I got shipping confirmation last night for the rechargeable battery box from my 2nd order of PF stuff that I made about an hour into the sale but no confirmation yet on the rest of that order but I'm not worried about it not shipping.
  • vader34mtvader34mt Member Posts: 88
i ordered about 15-20 mins into the sale...so hopefully my confirmation is coming
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
    Received my shipment today.

What website is Fry's/Kroger? I can't find Lego on there.

I have all of my shipping confirmations. Some notifications I have received are faster than others, but all of mine appear to arrive on the same day, and will probably tick off the UPS guy something fierce...

As for restocking during BOGOs, it does happen (like for the funhouse set discussed above)
Im am trying to keep an eye out for the Pet shop to restock :-)

  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
@Brickdancer: Fry's/ Kroger sells Lego in some of their stores not online.
  • jtkauffjtkauff Member Posts: 15
Is anyone able to confirm the B2G1 sale is active in Kroger stores specifically? I just looked at the ad for the local Kroger (Columbus, OH) and it mentions B2G1 on Mega(competingbrand) but not Lego brand sets. I don't mind making the 15-ish minute drive if the sale is on but if it isn't I'll probably just head home. I've struck out on sets from the ToysRUs sale (and my wife gave me the go-ahead on the modulars too, would have been my first ones) so a Kroger sale would be a nice consolation prize.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
@starfire2 it just sounded like the other posters did it online since they had 'confirmations'? I missed the modulars and the maersk on the TRU sale, hoping this was another shot. But since there's no Fry's/Kroger in California, no luck here =(
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
Try Ralph's, their owned by Kroger. ^

Might have just been them talking about TRU confirmations inbetween the Kroger/Fry's talk - one of my local Kroger has a good selection of Lego sets, but nothing above $60 or so - they certainly wouldn't have the exclusives like the modulars or Maersk items. I think the best I can hope for at Kroger are X-wings and TIE Fighters.

got my shipping notification from TRU...FB and GE are on the way!

i guess this makes me no longer a star wars collector, i'm now a modular collector as well
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
My tracking shows my FB, GE and 2x Red Cargo are delivered!
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ heh-heh, I had the same order of items. Just got my shipping confirmations. I ordered 5 minutes from when it started.
  • vader34mtvader34mt Member Posts: 88
^ yea, i wonder how their shipping system works

it seems that people who ordered later have already received items, and people who ordered earlier are just getting shipment notifications...weird

whatever, i'm just happy i was able to snag the modulars
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ I ordered minutes after the sale went live.

I have yet to receive my shipping confirmation for my two Tower Bridges, still says "located in stock" and I ordered about five minutes into the sale. This is the first time I have ever ordered from TRU, do they always suck this much? If it was Amazon, I would have it by now.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^ Not necessarily. Still haven't even received a shipping email from the Tanks I ordered this weekend. Received half my TRU stuff yesterday.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ My tanks are on their way.

I received my pair of Winter Toy Shops. I pulled the first one out of the box and the box was bulged and creased at one end, so I thought that would be the one to open.
Then I pulled out the second box and it was worse with creases on two sides and across the back.
Anyone have experience with exchanges at TRU (on-line)?
Is it worth the hassle to get a better box for resale?

Since both sets are sold out online, I think you're going to have trouble getting an exchange. I'm guessing they would just refund you. Sending an email to customer service is worth a shot, though, you never know.
  • jadeirenejadeirene Member Posts: 474
^^ Did you get the Toys Shops during this sale? I'm kicking myself for not checking its availability since I thought it was sold out long ago.
  • vader34mtvader34mt Member Posts: 88
i'm glad i bought my sets for building and not reselling...if i was buying to resell i would always want to do it in store to make sure the box wasnt too beat up
  • tk79tk79 Member Posts: 329
^ then you have to worry about someone removing pieces and resealing it.

    "Darned if you do..."
