Tables for a LEGO city

Hi,
For folks who have a LEGO city built on table(s), what sort of tables did you use? I was thinking of using IKEA's Linmon/Adil tables but IKEA doesn't ship Adil legs anymore (since the pandemic). I would have to drive 3.5 hours to the nearest IKEA store. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

The Ikea table tops seem to be a popular option other than just building them yourself from scratch.
However I would offer one word of caution - check ahead with the Ikea store you'd be driving to on their stock levels. Throughout the pandemic the Ikea closest to me has been having all kinds of issues keeping things in stock. The table tops and legs being big culprits!

^ yeah, IKEA during the pandemic has been problematic.  For my setup, I use 6ft and 4ft Lifetime foldable tables. (Costco)

I'm a big advocate of a stratch-built table.  You can precisely fit the baseplates (don't forget the spacing between the plates!) and you can customize the height - if you need to reach the middle of the table, and can put a lip around the outside to prevent sliding or rogue pieces escaping.

I have tried foldable tables (not from Costco) and they have a slight elevation in the middle where the two sides meet. Do the tables from Costco not have this problem or........? I would like to have a flat city layout.

^ Those creases are indeed there but it didn’t disrupt the setup too much.  The main issue I had was keeping the tables conjoined.  I ended up taping the legs together to help keep the jetsam from floating away from each other lol.  The base plates mostly kept the table separations a non-issue.  If I recall correctly, I did see a slight elevation discrepancy between the 2 diff table sizes.  I think I used small cardboard shins where needed if one of my buildings was listing slightly away from the next building.
