Haunted House. Not dropping all the way.

Before I start randomly taking this apart... I am finding that on the fall down, the ride is not coming down.
What I suspect is going on... the set of 4 and 4 tires on the one side to slow the ride down before it crashes, does not spin smoothly/ freely. It takes some pressure. The other side spins freely enough. I think that causes it to get stuck. I fiddled and push and got it enough, so the bottom 1/2 inch of the ride will come out, and then ever so slowly start to eventually go down. Something is not quite right, though.

Anyone encounter this? Figured I would check before taking the tower apart and debugging why it does not freely move.
