Lego 6891 Gamma-V Laser Craft

Hello guys, first post on this site and im really excited about it!
I've recently started collecting Lego and I'm really enjoying it. The other day I bought a Lego 6891 Gamma-V Laser craft in MIB condition.
The box is in excellent condition, the pieces are still sealed in the original plastic bags and the instructions were never opened. The only thing missing is the plastic bag that seals the box on the outside.
I've spent a lot for this set and i have only one worry: in this condition is this set worth something (from a collector perspective)?

Well there's not any in the condition you're talking about on bricklink so it's worth more than the sets available there I'm guessing.

Welcome to the forum. That set is a beauty, isn't it!

Yes, of course it will be worth more MISB, but there's no point keeping it in that condition: build and enjoy it.

It will still be worth a good few €s in 'as new' condition with box etc. should you want to sell later.

^ That's exactly what I would do. There is no point in opening it since that will destroy it's value. There are plenty of opened sets out there for you to buy and build if you like.

    Welcome to the Forum!
I had this set as a kid, it was great then and still is a great example of Classic Space. At some point I found an additional set in a LEGO lot I bought (but sold off in a lot before classic space increase in prices again) and then found someone on eBay selling just the box (and it was only 10-15 dollars for the box IIRC). So I found a box for my original set.

Yeah, if you are really worried about value then buy another one and keep this one in sealed condition.

    *chanting*

OPEN IT! OPEN IT! OPEN IT! OPEN IT! OPEN IT!

    ;-D

Welcome! I love that ship. #6891 was one I bought with my own saved up pocket money as a boy. Bought it, built it, took it apart, built the alternate models off the back of the box. Built it again. My first Black Spaceman. Very fond memories!

Don't fancy sharing some nicely lit photos of this little gem do you?

Thank you for sharing. Really lovely to see these things occasionally.

    Such a great colour scheme.

I'm actually astounded by what they did with just 121 parts and two minifigures... there is a lot of play value in it. I'm realising almost as nostalgic about this set as I am about #918.

Loved the trans yellow antenna and the black rubber hoses with tabless ends as well

I can see corner wear on that box. So you might as well open it!

Yes, I see a few scratches as well, one big one near the O in the front Lego logo.

It's clearly not mint, you must open it now.
